The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Geezer Cat was alone for awhile. He's a bit different, tho'. His Other Half died and I think she moved into him. Sometimes he'll do something just like she would and I believe it more. It makes me wonder where they'll wind up when they transition. I guess we'll see. Ethyl is my vote.

The gravy is wondemous. Getting it too hot was the issue.
Glad the gravy us good!!!!

Nite all.
Loved you all trying to work out the rules of rugby. But there are two types as alluded…Union or League with different rules.

Union
Only pass back not side or forwards.
When tackled you must release the ball (and hope your pals are there to pick it up)
You keep it until it is taken off you
Kick it away in field to put pressure on the other side when you try to win it back, or out to win it back when it is thrown in again
Score by putting it down in the other End Zone or kicking it into the top part of the H

League
All as above largely except you don’t release on the tackle.
You can be tackled five times then the other side get it back so after the fourth tackle you kick it away
No kicking out of field

Simple really….not!
I think I’m more confused now than I was before reading this! 😂

I like the saying, football is a gentleman’s game played by thugs. Rugby is a thugs game played by gentleman.

@likes2watchU and anyone else who is interested these are just a few from yesterday taken on the phone. I have more on the big camera but need to go through them yet. If there are better ones I will put them up.

This is an annual event that draws a good audience. Yesterday started wet so it was fairly quiet. Today is a good forecast so it’s I’ll be busy and I will stay away.

It is a 14th century castle so pretty interesting if you are into that.
Wow - looks amazing. I’ve seen it at a renaissance fair once. But looks pretty cool.

This totally makes me think of Monty Python. “We are the knights who say ‘ni’!”

“Break out the holy hand grenade.”

“A mere flesh wound.”

I could go on for hours!! But would love to see more photos!!

The landlady loved what I call her Poodle Extravaganzas. The Three Event ones seem to be er favorites, and she really like Dressage. Which I mispronounce on purpose. Of course. I have see a retro "castle" near Lexington KY and they do Renfaires there, not that I would go. They should have Large Poodle events but don't. You can spend the night there at $1,000 per. Yeah . . . no!!!
This is the castle in Battle UK. Probably not too far from where @tigger_lover
Is. It’s where the battle of Hastings took place. An amazing place.

I like the telephone booth right next to the castle, in case they want to order some carry out!

And of course this made me laugh. battle pain management…

I was in Cavalry units the first half of my military career. The 4/3 ACR had a 4 horse Cavalry Parade unit that would do big change of commands and the like. Just those four horses thundering across a parade ground was impressive. Now image a 600+ (thank you Lord Tennyson) horse cavalry charge!

The English had Heavy Cavalry and Light Cavalry (Charge of the Light Brigade fame)…can you image the sound of a Heavy Cavalry (300) charge of a Brigade of Friesian War Horses? That had to strike the fear of God in infantry.

Now with the sounds of thundering hoof beats and roaring cannons in your head…your morning Zen😊

EDIT: needed to clean up my numbers for the example of the Light and Heavy Brigades in Crimea.
I had no idea. Where you 19D?

I was 19K the 19D “enemies”. I was in 2/12 cav. It was weird being a tanker in a cav unit.

I was also in 1/68 AR.

So here is the run down

1st guy
100$ less
Complained about his full time job
Told me about his family
Has a hand injury that his ft job won't give him workers comp for
Seemed to understand the work but wanted to use a metal barrier on edges --after I told him I want the beds shaped
Showed me pics but the were beds with 1 plant.

2nd guy
100$ more
"Want me to throw an edge on all the beds it will clean stuff up"
I recommend triple black mulch lasts longer...but not forever (so realistic)
When asked about his current job he said yeah he refers a lot of work (is a builder around here that is pretty good to work with) --the builder gave his assurance he does a good job and this guy does work.for his mom too..
When I was talking about a couple spots he said he will use a spade and get rid of them so they stay gone longer.
He didn't talk about/complain about anything...just got down to business

#2 it is
Think ya made the better choice. Once they tackle it and do the heavy work, keeping up on it should be a lot easier.

Evenin’ all!

Took me a good while to catch up. My phone would charge last nite so it crapped out. Couldn’t get it to charge.

So got an early jump on the day and went to the local mall to get phone fixed. Dirty port. “There’s a lot of sawdust inside this phone.”

Whooops!

Mowed two lawns for my wife. Then my farmhand met me at the farm and we rip rapped the stream on my farm. It has two 90° turns and the erosion is getting really bad. We rip rapped right under one of my sheds, which is probably a good 4-5 big rain storms away from going into the creek.

It was actually nice, working in the creek on a hot and humid day. A good way to stay cool. Did a few other chores at the farm. Then wife and I took a long drive and had an ice cream for dinner.

19k steps yesterday and 18k today!

Goodnight all!!
