Sex & Shenanigans

What are you playing? I beat AC:Mirage last weekend and haven't decided what I'm playing next yet.
I'm playing dotAGE. Again. It must be my third time. Neat little village builder/puzzler where you try and outrun the elements and avoid the apocalypse.
Good humour, good replay value!
I mostly go for little Steam stuff these days because i fall off the huge adventures before the end..

Oh… yeah, Paris is a well known surfing destination… wait… what???? 🤣🤣🤣
Teahupo’o, Tahiti --French Polynesia. I kind of love it. It is beautiful there right now, great swells. It has an interesting layout, with a calm trench for viewers outside the reef and the waves. It isn't the furthest away from the home country -- in 1956 Australia had an equine quarantine, so those events were in Stockholm, Sweeden.

Oh good… I was worried that had some wave tank or something. 🤣🤣🤣

Airsoft is one of those things I would love to get into, not sure how popular it is in my area though. And I'm an gear junkie so I'd probably bankrupt myself getting into it. 🤣
I just got into it about 3 weeks ago, and I'm kind of upset at the friend who got me into it. I'm not a gear junkie per se, however I definitely enjoy having higher quality equipment. I just got into paintball last year and already dropped over a grand on it, I know that the budget is going to rack up pretty quickly Airsoft as well...

I went thru a big Airsoft & Paintball phase in college. Even 20 years ago, neither was a cheap habit. I eventually sold most my guns to my brother when I just didn't have the time or money to keep up with it. I still have one Airsoft gun lying around. Wish I still had the mock Desert Eagle I bought when a store was going out of business, it was a nice replica.

I played on a semi-pro paintball team way back in the pump-action days before every marker was semi-automatic or automatic. Heck, my backup as a Splatmaster...

And semi-pro meant we had enough of a sponsor to cover gas and paint. We had to buy our own beer...

I wish I still had my Tipman SL-68II. Loved that marker. I have my old Splatmaster here someplace.

Now I'm reminded of the time I took a paintball right in the exposed part of my throat/neck. I was up in a blind and had my head tilted to take a shot at someone and my buddy on the other team caught me. Hurt like a son of a bitch and left me croaking for the rest of the day.

I took a shot like that from from a 15 ft away. I have not played without neck protection ever since. I don't mind most of the bruises from either sport, but getting hit in the throat is the absolute worst. (I wear enough protection for the boys that it doesn't hurt too bad if I get shot there)

Worst I ever saw was at an indoor arena. I guy was crawling through a tube to sneak up on his brother. The brother heard him, spun around and shot without really looking. Caught the one in the tube on the head like two feet away, just above his face mask. Dude had a welt that looked like an angry volcano.

Haha, those are brutal ones. I find indoor is much more prone to injury because so many things happen within a couple of feet, whereas on the outdoor fields there tends to be more separation.

We used to issue an award for best welt. You got a patch called the Purple Splat.
I had one particularly bad game last year, leading to a couple of bad bruises 🤕, and 😵, and then all of ☠️.

I know the point is to not get shot, but you should really see the other guys after 😂

Back then, it was better and worse for that. Pump markers are a lot more accurate and can hit hard at further distance, but modern markers throw out a lot of paint faster. But storming a village set up? There is a lot of pain in the offering.

I find paintball to be a lot like tattoos. You're nervous at first, but after that first ball hits, the pain spikes the adrenaline and you are ready for more.
