Reed Hastings (Netflix) donates $7m to PAC

According to the report, Hastings was encouraged to make a donation to the PAC by venture capitalist and Democratic donor Reid Hoffman, cofounder of LinkedIn.

Hastings was initially hesitant to endorse Harris, because "Dem delegates need to pick a swing state winner," he wrote in a social media post shortly after Biden withdrew his candidacy. However, following Harris' swift clinch of the Democratic nomination, garnering a majority of delegates, Hastings congratulated the vice president on social media and wrote, "Now it is time to win."

The campaign has supposedly taken in over $250m since Biden dropped out.
Do you feel this groundswell of support is pure happiness over the pick of Harris or just that Biden dropped out? OMG did a little reporting on this yesterday. Seems ActBlue is laundering money in peoples names who have donated to them in the past. One lady would have had to donate some amount three times every day for X-amount of days to even match the total. Wonder if the FEC will get involved?

Edit: I should add I assume this was money earmarked for Biden…not sure the time line or if it reflects since Harris being named presumptive nominee

Yes, you're obviously misunderstanding me. Sorry about that.

There will be a virtual roll call vote before the convention to secure the nomination rather than the typical roll call at the convention. I do not favor this approach.

dotting their legal i's and crossing their legal t's to head off gop shennanigans
If anyone is going to challenge Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination, they have only until this weekend to do it.

Delegates to the Democratic National Convention rules committee approved the virtual roll call on Wednesday, moving ahead with a July 30 deadline for candidates seeking to collect delegate signatures to appear on the virtual roll call. The virtual roll call, which must be completed by Aug. 7 to comply with Ohio ballot access deadlines, could start as early as next Thursday.

you sad little girl

I hear a very gentle sound
With your ear down to the ground
We want the world and we want it
We want the world and we want it
Now
Now?
Now!

The Ohio deadline is no longer August 7
yes, I understand it was changed to September 1st but this is to circumvent any attempts to have that extension bill overturned.

Not long afterward in June, however, the Ohio Legislature passed a bill that would extend the state's certification deadline until Sept. 1, allowing the DNC to go forward as originally scheduled.

Despite this, the DNC announced earlier this month that it intends to go forward with the virtual nomination as originally planned, citing the possibility that lawsuits may overturn the bill.

You must know Ohio, amongst other states, will do all they can to keep the dem candidate off the ballot if they possibly can.

That's not going to happen. The benefit from having the vote at the convention far outweigh the risk.

I know that the state government is not going to enact any legislation in time and DeWine wouldn't sign it if they tried.

i bet this will help the cause. 🇺🇲😀

Biden-Harris Administration Invests Nearly $394 Million for the I-55 Bridge in Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas

The grants will fund the reconstruction, repair, and restoration – using American-made materials – of 13 nationally significant bridges in 16 states that connect communities to jobs and resources, support the economy, and serve as critical corridors for freight travel. These projects will also address important safety issues and make the bridges more resilient to extreme weather, all while creating good-paying jobs.

“For too long, America let bridges fall into disrepair, which left people less safe, disrupted our supply chains, and cost people time and money - but now the Biden-Harris administration is changing that with the biggest investment in our bridges since the Eisenhower era,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Putting aside the fact that Congress, not the White House appropriated the funding, not sure how many voters will notice the impact of $394 million spread across 16 states. The federal budget is > $6 trillion this FY.

shut the fuck up and look which states are benefiting. the roll has started 🇺🇲👍🏻

You didn’t answer the question…not surprisingly.

Your post was an X from the same guy who accidentally posted that he was a black woman who would never vote for Harris!

Find a better source if you want to be taken seriously. That guy has zero credibility.

Meanwhile, the groundswell is due to both factors - an old man dropping out and a younger professional woman stepping up.

more than prior to this news, yes.

you don't?
No. Those states are not in play and $394 million spread among 16 states will have zero impact. But I encourage DNC to divert funding from PA, WI, MI, AZ, GA and NV into OH, KY, TN, and WV.

that's ones way to explain that you didn't know how things work.

You might not be familiar with the electoral college. Or maybe you are familiar with it but have a unique theory about which states are in play. Would love to hear your thoughts.
