Harris for President

I've observed several milquetoast individuals who are probably shy, meek, or unassertive in face-to-face interactions but online adopt a much bolder and more aggressive persona. The anonymity and distance provided by the internet allow them to express thoughts and opinions they would likely keep to themselves in real life. It's quite common for people such as yourself to project their most shamed personal proclivities and physical attributes to debate opponents they dislike or cannot dominate with reason. I see what you are. I read your book.

The most obvious and bedeviling point about my post was the time honored and universal truth it contained. It's clear you don't like hearing it so either pull your panties up, put my on Ignore, or find another forum, because I'm going to be here for as long as I want to be here.
You are such a clown. You know damn well that your real life is a shambles. You have lost your remaining friends and family due to your continued allegiance to the Cult of MAGA. So all you have left is to come to online forums that still allow you to spew your anonymous hate.

I have enjoyed hearing how MAGAs have destroyed their lives over the years. So feel free to share your story. It warms my heart.

didn't know about this but it pleases me to share it with y'all:

they offered $2-4B relief for the homeowners foreclosed on; Harris got that bumped up to $20B

An impromptu phone call between Kamala Harris, then Calif. Attorney General, and JPMorgan Chase chief executive Jamie Dimon almost immediately escalated into a shouting match.
The two were locking horns over a proposed settlement Wall Street’s big banks were negotiating with a consortium of state attorneys general over relief for homeowners who were foreclosed on during the Great Financial Crisis. The banks, which included Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase, among others, offered between $2 billion to $4 billion in compensation for California alone. Harris deemed that amount insufficient, eventually the banks raised their offer nearly tenfold.

Harris has secured "well over" the number of delegates needed to assure her the nomination

thank fuck for them getting their shit together in a timely fashion

Imagine if President Biden hadn’t gone the "Shock" announcement route, and his decision to step aside had been telegraphed / leaked to the media and those who wanted to undermine Kamala.

😳

I honestly believe we would be in the middle of a shit-storm right now.

🤬

Side note:

I find it interesting (suspicious) that President Biden had closed ranks with the Clinton’s shortly before the announcement, and that the endorsements for Kamala came flooding in with such regimented alacrity - almost like those endorsements were pre-negotiated:

🤔

This is just some fun spitballing here, but I can quite easily imagine some super-clandestine operation where the Clinton’s, Biden’s, etc, were working the phones and gauging the Democratic power-players’ reaction to the question - “Would you agree to immediately endorse Kamala if President Biden were to suddenly step aside???” - and then, when they all felt confident they had enough solid endorsements locked up to make Kamala "inevitable", they put operation "Pass The Torch" into action.

I really want to believe that ^ happened.

😎

Harris v Trump debate?

Will Trump chicken out?
Hey AB!
How you? We’ve been in passing but hope all is well with your health and family.

I believe he will but I don’t want to underestimate trump nor a media that refuses to ask follow up questions or call him out on the debate stage for his lies. That’s not an excuse - that’s truth. That said, I think he expected and wanted Biden. I’ve said numerous times today republicans can really only resort to attacking her race and gender. The optics of that on Harris would be much different than it played out for him on Clinton.

Zra Klein supports an open nomination process rather than virtual roll call - I agree

I think it's better for Harris to get the nom at the convention
Harris already has the nomination. They’ll still do the roll call at the convention for the spectacle of it, but Kamala Harris is already the Democratic candidate for President in 2024.

As was reported earlier in the thread, they are doing a virtual roll call ahead of the convention.

Yes. Harris won the virtual roll call last night.
Yes, you're obviously misunderstanding me. Sorry about that.

There will be a virtual roll call vote before the convention to secure the nomination rather than the typical roll call at the convention. I do not favor this approach.

Scoop: Biden doubted Harris' election chances

President Biden hesitated to drop his re-election campaign in part because he and his senior advisers worried that Vice President Kamala Harris wasn't up to taking on Donald Trump, according to three Biden aides familiar with recent talks about his plans.

In April 2022, Harris was the guest for a dinner at D.C. news mogul David Bradley's home — a salon-style event Bradley hosts with Washington journalists and newsmakers.

  • Harris' anxiety about the dinner was such that her staff held a mock dinner beforehand, with staffers playing participants, according to two people familiar with the event.
  • Harris aides even considered including wine in the mock prep so Harris could practice with a glass or two.
  • They ultimately decided against it.
