As someone who is also from Oregon, but moved away after 30 years... there is a certain city there where things have moved very far from "nice". Pulling down statues that have been there for years, setting fires, trashing businesses, and accosting people just trying to walk through downtown...
It was a really nice place years ago... and the rural still is very nice.. but the big city? No thanks.
