what was New York like then? I like seeing New York and retro movies, like it was in the bad 70s.

There’s a really good Ramones documentary and described New York City in 1974. The city was broke, reeling from urban decay….

Yet somehow, there is this versioning punk rock and new wave scene happening down at the Bowery.

Today is a “work day”. But only in theory. Our larg-ish team has a fun committee and this year’s fun is to do a pontoon boat this afternoon “down the shore.”

If you are from Jersey or Southeast Pennsylvania, you know it as “going down the shore”, not going to the coast, go to the beach, etc.

So light snacks, one beer per person (it is an insurance company after all), some good company and we wrapped it up around 1 PM.

By the time I get home, I’m sure I’ll have 10 trillion emails…

I can’t believe how much brighter and color there is in the world. I am looking forward to the second surgery.

Cats can be weird like that. I think it's a predator thing. They can hunker down and survive without doing much of anything. That may have more to do with why I heard as little from her as I did.

I read a couple of years ago, somewhere out in California, a tagged mountain lion was spotted sitting and watching a preschool!.

The game wardens tranquillized it and moved it off someplace, but when they did the download off the cats collar, it had been sitting in the same spot for 8 hours! . I know it’s a different level of “kitty” but it proves your point!

Now, as you contemplate the horrors of mountain lions and school kids crossing paths…yer morning Z…

The landlady was working in the woods portion of the farm down toward the creek. She was on the farm side of the fence, chugging along doing whatever. She said at some point, she heard a large feline growl, probably from the other side of the fence. Not loud, but longish and low. Being the vte-tech critter person she is, and without thinking, she yelled at it, "don't you growl at me in my own yard." She didn't hear anything else, so apparently it slinked away.

Off for round #2.

I’ve had a couple or three Bobcat encounters over the years. The first one was sitting on my uncles back porch having coffee. A cat walked out by his dog pens, he bred Irish Setters and the dogs were going ape-shit. As she walked off a big (I assume) male walked out snarling and growling. Hot on her trail. Never even looked twice at the dogs!

The second one was coming out of a deer stand at twilight. Walking in the dark back to camp. I heard a blood curdling screech and growl…scared? Hell yes! Never saw that kitty, which made it more unsettling!
