Shot fired at Trump?

I saw a report on RawStory.com that one of the first shots by the shooter hit and shattered convicted felon Donald J. Trump's teleprompter, and glass shards from the exploding teleprompter screen cut his ear and scratched convicted felon Donald J. Trump's face.
I’ve heard the “teleprompter theory”, but I won’t believe it until I see more evidence. It doesn’t match what’s visible on the video.

Trump wasn’t hit. Trump touched his ear after the first shot, but there wasn’t any blood when he took his hand away.

Crooks fired twice more after that while Trump was crouching down, but he stopped shooting before the Secret Service agents grabbed Trump and dragged him to the stage.

Yeah I wondered about the lack of blood on his hand as well

That stupid giant ear bandage is gonna be in a SNL skit

if you take a second to look properly, you will see a smear of blood on his forefinger tip and blood on the upper inside of his middle finger, quite consistent with a brief touch to a damaged ear top.

I'm incredibly amazed that no one has resigned or been fired yet. This seems like a no brainer that someone needs to be.

wannabe assassin had range-finger on him when he roused suspicions by metal detector, and the remote device to blow the IEDs in the vehicle outside...

also had a bullet-proof tactical vest and a lot more ammo. changed his working day because he had 'something important to do' but told his colleague/s he'd see them sunday.

Investigators said Tuesday they found a remote transmitter in the suspect's pocket that may have been intended to set off two suspicious devices found in the suspect's car and one in his home, according to law enforcement sources. Devices at both locations were similarly constructed in ammunition containers using components including receivers that appear to have been paired with the remote control found in the suspect's pocket, sources said.
Investigators also found a tactical vest in the suspect's car, though it is unclear why he did not wear it during the assault on the former president's rally. Some investigators are wondering whether he anticipated dying in the attack.

Rewatched the video showing Crooks sliding up the roof. So crazy. I think I would have found some rocks and thrown them up there.

crossed wires, apparently:

The Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that it provided "all resources" to the Secret Service -- including 30 to 40 troopers to assist with securing the inside perimeter of the campaign rally venue ... but "was not responsible for securing the building or property" outside the security perimeter where the would-be assassin opened fire.

however:

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle confirmed that local police were present inside the building at the same time the shooter was on the roof firing at Trump. Cheatle also said that local authorities were tasked with securing that building.

"In this particular instance, we did share support for that particular site and that the Secret Service was responsible for the inner perimeter," Cheatle said. "And then we sought assistance from our local counterparts for the outer perimeter."
there's gonna be a whole lot of finger pointing

I read a book about ten years ago where a Secret Service historian documented every single Secret Service fuckup of the last 100 years....not just presidents and vice presidents, everything.....I think it might be due for an update after this.
Are there enough trees?

Are there enough trees?
The Secret Service was required by law to guard ex-presidents and their spouses for life back then. Lady Bird Johnson was blind, frail and 95 years old. She'd venture outside of her home maybe once a month. Agents on "limited duty" got the job of guarding her.

It also takes a second or two for the body to actually start bleeding, especially after an impact trauma because the impact shockwave pushes the blood away from the injury area and it has to return before bleeding can occur. (see eg; pressing on your fingernail and watching how fast it turns pink again.)

  • A U.S. Secret Service official said a Pennsylvania police SWAT team was in another building than the one whose roof was used Saturday by Thomas Crooks to shoot at former President Donald Trump.
  • The new account contradicts a prior claim by Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle that Crooks was on top of the building containing the SWAT team near Trump's campaign rally in Butler.
  • The disclosure follows news that the Secret Service had increased security for Trump after being told of a plot by Iran to kill him.

Interesting. That totally contradicts what some here are saying about security being diverted to the good doctor.

A review of the video footage will show that both teleprompter screens were intact after the shooting was over.

+ I'd feel just as anxious and appalled if Biden got shot at. These events create ripples and those ripples coalesce into other happenings down the road. Reactionaries just want to see something occur yet don't consider what that something will leave behind in its' aftermath. "Why did he miss?!" will be a joke and exclamation among many but reflect on what would have been the outcome if the shooter actually hit his target.

+Shooter identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks (Pardon any grammatical errors on my part)

+Supposedly the shooter was already a bad shot and got rejected from his local rifle group. Probably why he wanted to prove himself in that particular arena.

+Incidentally the shooter was in a Black Rock endorsed advertisement or instructional video about education. I'm going to chalk that up to uncanny coincidence.

Shooter was signed up as a Republican but earlier donated to a Democrat related cause. Not exactly a "gotcha moment" as people donating to causes or charities don't always pay attention to whom is sponsoring the fundraiser. Still, I found it interesting. There are Never-Trumper Republicans too so it's not "for sure" he was a Democrat.

+ Trump's security detail was lax. Not surprising and that's on Kimberly Cheatle, the Biden administration, and the DEI diversity hires. This is why I put more stock in meritocracy than equity when it comes to job hires. Let the person with the best content of character, most skilled proficiency at their profession, and most devout work ethic get the job regardless of their gender, sexuality,or race. (Even if hiring them doesn't fulfill some ridiculous quota via marginalized check boxes!)

+Witnesses reported the shooter but the police were very slow to react.

+No drones in the air

+If you already believe this is staged I know I will not change your mind but someone still died. His name was Corey Comperatore by the way. He was a fire chief and a family man.

Silver-lining for me is this distracted those water-boarding me to get out the confession I was a closet Republican after I posted my "This is why I don't like politics" thread! It may surprise you to know there are a lot of non-partisans out there. That and Trump doesn't just appeal to alt-righters as seems to be the rhetoric from certain posters. (Just my general observations from lurking on other social media sites as well.)

I remember being a 90's kid when politics was not such a divisive hot button issue. By comparison now it feels as if people will act overly aggressively towards you immediately just because you disagreed with them on a few key points in a general discussion. Not exactly what I would call fun or insightful!

Exactly! The thought that the Trump campaign might have gotten an innocent man killed for a photo op is horrific.
He could shoot someone on fifth Avenue and not lose votes, right?

I’m sure MAGA zombies would give their lives willingly to help their Orange Jesus.

Maybe we can get a couple here to volunteer.
