I should start with the simple facts. The Constitution is dated and we would be wise to make major overhauls to a lot of laws. People REALLY bring it up when they cannot win an argument on its merits and instead summon the ghosts of the dead to fight their battles. Though occasionally the battle SHOULD be open and shut on its merits as we are seeing right now with Louisiana and the Bible.

The first amendment is under no threat from the Left. None. The right however are seeking to actively attack the press and have done so openly for eight years if we choose to be polite and pretend it didn't start und Reagan which frankly is being too polite. That isn't reality mind you but still.

The 2nd amendment is one of those really funny things. 99% of Americans know its absolute horseshit and have very little interest it. We know instinctively that Iran can't have nukes. According to the Constitution GOD/Nature grants those RIGHTS. They are not something the government grants you, they are things the government takes away from you. You don't give a shit because you don't actually believe in the amendments. You believe MIGHT MAKES RIGHT. Which is cool but at least admit it.
