It can be. And it certainly has been in the past. I would say the current group is about as welcoming as there is and I've been here for a bit.
I wouldn't so much call it cliquey as familiar. Most folks when they are new try to get a feel and join in when they are comfortable.
Aggressiveness from someone new here is usually the sign of an alt or someone desperate to fit in.
Trailing women around that you don't know and posting things like you do has been a recipe for failure.
This place has trolls and incels that appear, disappear and reappear with new names. People are wary of new people that come on strong. Not a criticism, just an observation based on experience.
This has been a fun thread for a long time hosted by a legendary poster. It got derailed tonight. That doesn't sit well with anyone.
Maybe instead of pointing fingers, a little introspection would be more helpful.

Some of the best and funniest people on lit post here. There is a reason the thread is 300 pages and constantly on pg 1. Maybe instead of attacking other posters with accusations try answering our gracious host's questions.
I have no dog in this fight. I just want to see this thread back on track so I can go back to enjoying the read.
