2024 First Presidential Debate Thread: June 27th

Interesting to watch what RT.com focuses on ..,..seems very obvious who they support

I don't think Biden was prepared for the sheer volume of Trump's lies.

Age is becoming too much of an issue for Biden. Democracy is more at risk than it was before this debate. A pathological liar is running circles around Biden.

Sorry to have to say this.

Just about everything Trump says is a lie. Easliy 97%+. Just verbal vomit.

I'm worried about the impression of this. However there is the reality of trying to actually deal with someone who is throwing everything out. Trump has no coherent answer and is throwing out literally 5 issues in a single answer for every single question.

Biden is going to have to find a summary line to try to deal with Trump's insanity.

Trump's hair looks a bit stranger or worse now, like he wants it to look rectangular on a round head.

Trump speaks more clearly. 2000%. No argument there.

But he makes no damn sense. Not one bit.

Whenever Trump refuses to answer the question and tries to change the subject, the moderator should say to him, "Answer the question."
This pisses me off to no end. With all the candidates. When they get their turn to speak and just talk about some random issue they want to talk about instead of answering the question. I need Kyle Clark in here to moderate.

It would help if the moderators noted the question they asked wasn't answered. I've seen this done a bit (and just now as I type this). Would be nice if they did it every time.

I'm not watching it. I have it on behind me and I'm working in the computer. So, I'm listening to it. Biden came in without a voice and has been flubbing and correcting himself a lot. He's also trying to talk too fast. Pity.

Neither one of them is answering that question. The question wasn’t about reducing the amount of fentanyl in the country. It was about current Americans experiencing addiction.

I don’t understand why we allow our political debates to carry out like this. It’s fucking embarrassing.

If Biden ends this with something like "look folks I know I'm older but I'm not this pathological liar who can't stick to a single subject. I'm old but wise" would put this in order.
