SCOTUS Decisions

At this point putting out decisions about horses and nonprofits is much higher priority than presidential immunity.

Fuck this court.

These aren't rulings as such. Just deciding which cases to take for next term.

The court rules in Snyder v. United States, that federal bribery law does not make ti a crime for state and local officials to accept gratuities that may be given as a token of appreciation after the official act. Federal law, the court writes, “leaves it to state and local governments to regulate gratuities to state and local officials.”

The US supreme court just basically legalized bribery

I am shocked, SHOCKED, that “conservative” Supreme Court justices ruled that bribing public officials is fine.

To celebrate the decision, Harlan Crow gave each of the “conservative” justices a new house.

If only those Egyptian business men that bribed sen. Menendez knew the proper "legal" way to bribe someone in Washington as ok'ed by SCOTUS here.

  • The court grants a group of states’ request to put the EPA’s “good neighbor plan” on hold in Ohio v. Environmental Protection Agency. The rule was issued to reduce air pollution from power plants and other industrial facilities based on the EPA’s interpretation of a provision of the Clean Air Act, which requires “upwind” states to reduce emissions that affect the air quality in “downwind” states.
  • The court rules in Harrington v. Purdue Pharma L.P. that the bankruptcy code does not authorize a multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy plan for Purdue Pharma, the maker of the highly addictive opioid painkiller OxyContin, that would release members of the Sackler family, which owned the company but did not declare bankruptcy, from any future liability for claims against them.
  • In SEC v. Jarkesy, the court rules that when the SEC seeks civil penalties against a defendant for securities fraud, the Seventh Amendment entitles the defendant to a jury trial.
  • The court dismisses Moyle v. United States, allowing doctors in Idaho to continue providing abortions in emergency medical situations.

So, they rule in favor of air pollution, against BigPhamra, in favor of jury trials and against Iowa.

Laws need to be changed so that rulings must be issued no later than 60 days after hearings. This practice of last minute stuff needs to end.

Gang tattoos indicate support for illegal acts and behavior. They indicate a refusal to obey the law and be a peaceful/productive citizen.

Thus they are a statement of ill intent. An application for citizenship can be denied on that basis of that statement. Not because of that the applicant "might do" but because of what they have already done.
So the Biden administration should be able to deny the application for any applicant who wears a red MAGA hat a lot, right? That is tacit support for an insurrectionist, rapist, and 34 times convicted felon.

Without knowing all the details of every case, it sure seems like the Supreme Court has been all over the place this past year.

And the Supreme Court would instantly rule those laws unconstitutional. Why? Because they can.

Maybe it's time to defund the Supreme Court. Most of them make millions in bribes, anyway.

Their inconsistent and sometimes absurd ability to narrowly or broadly rule on cases is frustrating. Cases that don't require additional scope are getting it while others that should have it are not getting it.

That seems like a perfect summation of the situation.

It's the Duggars, Arkansas Royalty.
I totally blame his hypocritical, holier-than-thou asshole parents. But whichever network carried their show deserves some blame too. No one should ever have even heard of this disgusting family.
