I just snort-laughed out loud at work, now they think I am crazy(er)

I am not fooling around when I say, "I know enough to get me into trouble but not nearly enough to get me out" regarding any language other than English (US not Queen's).![]()
One of the best reasons to learn languages IMO.Plus it’s fun to eavesdrop when people have no clue you understand them.

Plus, Ihearing the original languages. Give me subtitles over dubbing every day of the week!
Enjoy hun..I found such a deal on a rifle. This one was made in 1940 and if it wasn't in WW2, then it dodged the draft. It had gone on sale. 20% off. Fuck it. There was room on that card. It's on its way. Well, it may take a few days to write an address label, but . . . .
Off to read.

My mom is 85... she loves glen levitI had two shots of Sambuca earlier!!
But whiskey sounds a lot nicer….
I want to learn "I know what you said" in lots of languages to see facial reactions when I say it.....When I was a kid I used to translate for my mother, mostly help reading instructions and forms, and hated it. You learn adult stuff way too early.
But, polyglots listen differently and see things from alternative perspectives, an advantage in any field requiring analysis, creativity and understanding.
Plus it’s fun to eavesdrop when people have no clue you understand them.
