The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

If it calls, you have to go West.

I came up here hunting for 40 years, never thought the management would want to live here. She came with me 2015 when we stumbled on this place and looked at in detail early 2016, thought fuck it, put an offer in and went south to sell up. The rest is history. You can spend your life worrying what might happen in the future or you can just make it happen yourself! No point expecting others to make you happy!

I have lived some chunks of my life trying to make other happy and/or doing what they said, and it took me awhile to realize that my interests, best or otherwise, were getting anywhere from overlooked to steamrolled. So I streamlined my life, drew some lines in the concrete, and decided to be like Frank and do it my way. Life has been better and I am more content.

Mosquitos can just fuck the right off imho
I share your pain. For us it’s midges. Cannibalistic little buggers get in to you in swarms when up on the hill summer and autumn. I have a mesh hoody when it gets too bad as no amount of repellent keeps them away. It’s too cool for them just yet but get a warm, still evening and it’s hell!

You probably added years to your life. I empathize as did something similar in my first marriage (my X).

Lunchtime catch up... work is nuts and this thread is ⚡
Father’s Day was good. My daughter, unfortunately has Covid (very benign Case, but best for us not to be around one another).

Saw my mom, and on the way back my wife had a brilliant idea. We went to the Royal bar, a really divey biker place that we enjoy. Ordered a beer and a burger.

I told my daughter we were there and she used TouchTunes to play a great Father’s Day lineup. It was great!
La Grange - ZZ Top
On Parole - Motorhead
Pretty Vacant - Sex Pistols
Looking for Lewis and Clark - Long Ryders
Barroom Hero - Dropkick Murphy’s
Middle Eastern Holiday - Hard-Fi

Then I mowed the lawn and made really anal super straight lines the way I like it.
So glad you found a way to connect with your daughter on Father's Day. 🤗 Hope she feels better soon.
Agree - best to keep your distance until she's well. Not just for you and your wife but for all those you help out who are elderly and/or sick/disabled.
I happened to look up in time to see TDK catch a fly. Her look was intense. Worth the price of admission.

TDK 😻
Like RJ’s weather, 90s temperatures with 70s humidity or more. Came back from a coffee meeting after dropping off the grandkids. I walked at and it felt like a sauna ! 💦
As much as we're waterlogged in my corner of the Midwest, I'm enjoying the 60F (15.5C) the rain has brought. Not looking forward to the steam bath on the horizon!! 🌬️ ♨️ 💨

Happy Monday everyone... I'm dashing out until after work. 🏃‍♀️

Send some rain this way when you're done with it, please. We don't make our own for another week yet, and we're a week from the last rains.
Rain is definitely an issue here. We’re going into the dry months and pumpkins require a lot of water. Like all plants, pumpkins, need water, CO2, and sunshine.

But they also need something else: SEX! You may or may not know that pumpkins have male and female flowers. The male flowers are usually smaller than the female flowers and usually occur earlier in the plant production cycle. They also have a long straight stoma filled w pollen ( almost looks like a schlong!)

The female flowers have multiple small sections that absorb pollen from the male flower. The females also have a small pumpkin or fruit growing at the base of the flower.

In order to get a pumpkin to grow, bees, or other pollinators need to have access to a male plant and then fertilize the female plant. Sometimes to ensure that it gets fertilized, a pumpkin grower or gardener, can brush the male pollen using a Q-tip into the female plant.

You probably just learned more than you ever wanna know about pumpkins! 😂
Class dismissed!!

Well, if'n you're gonna say "schlong," then I'm gonna post the picture of the breadmaker I'm interviewing:

Damn rifle hasn't showed up. Did I mention disassembling the trigger group and the bolt? Yeah, nasty is the word. All the pieces are soaking in solvent and only the firing pin is clean.

I did get the purchese out in the mail for the IHC trigger group, which I wager is scads cleaner than this damned thing.
