Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Oddly, i don't have many of Stevie's records, but he was always there when i was growing up, on the radio, on tv (he was very much loved in the UK). There are so many of his tracks, but i love this one.. AND.
This performance is just stunning, it's on Sesame Street... A kids' show and they just blast the place to pieces. Imagine being a child in the audience... mind blowing

I have only heard the original recordings a few times--I should jump down that rabbit hole. I remember that in a time when all the music seemed to get so complicated for the purpose of being complicated, even to the point of getting in the way of itself, these three guys came out with this completely simple, stripped down, happy music. It was like pop deconstructed, and I love it still.

Ten year olds are pre-teens so I'm going all the way back to the year 2000. It's a little foggy, but I remember there being 3 main crushes amongst my friend group: Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Timberlake, and Ricky Martin. At the time, I was mystified by all three but idk, in retrospect, Ricky was giving late 90s/early aughts hunkiness and I don't hate it. And this one is a bop.
