The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Finally caught up. The knife issue is sorted but I'll still toss my set in the ring for what it's worth.
I bought cutco knives and I hate them...cut myself everytime I use them
Paradox of Choice when looking for a knife set. So I "outsourced" mine years ago. Got lucky w/ a relative who worked as a chef/cook for years.

My needs were a basic set for keeping me fed and cooking for others. Nothing fancy - for me. We also had
a $30 limit that year (2008).

It remains my knife set to this day. While I know my way around the kitchen, I'm not a techie about knives, gadget, and appliances. But as a basic set of everyday knives, I think they fit the bill.

You can find this same set for @ $50-80 today, and there have been several other sets by this brand in the intervening years.

short catch up today... sorry, missed yesterday almost entirely. Crazy busy.

...you can say it in the room and not in my dm. We are very open with each other here.
anyone else? just my musically-wired brain?
Ethyl is now sitting in my lap reading the screen and making it difficult to type.

She does know where the pig farm is . . . .
Her way of saying, "Reading time, Wat"?
Bet she keeps the pigs in line, too
*tiptoes out, leaving the door unlocked*
I can always turn on the water and laugh as she race-waddles out of there.
To be a fly on the wall for that revenge kitty moment
We have two smokers one for fish and one for meat
Don’t know if you could get the smell out of them
I'm thinking maybe use the meat one for bread... unless pairing said bread with a fish dish? 🤔
(that go “ping!”)
very fiscally minded of you
@likes2watchU I said “ball.” Heh heh.
:ROFLMAO:
Wrangler carpenter jeans

511 tactical pants
I love pants with extra pockets but would functionally "pants myself" if I utilized them all. Basic 5-pocket jeans or microfiber pants with 2 side pockets for me. At most I carry a clean tissue or two and a trash bag.
I rarely carry more the my wallet, keys, knife, and my ccw
On the one hand I have doctors giving me a list of things I must bring every time I leave the house (i.e. EpiPens, etc.).
On the other, I have doctors and PTs telling me I have a max of 2 pounds (@ 0.45 kg) I can carry on either shoulder.
My wallet, cell phone, keys, and EpiPens plus a basic bag to put them in meet that restriction. But there's at least another half dozen items on the list.
Years ago, I was a cook and learned a lot about cutlery
Thoughts on Hampton Forge? I don't think anyone in the family had a Costco account back when I got these (@ 2008). So those weren't in frame. I've been pleased with the Hampton Forge for my uses though.
Wustoff is another good brand
Wustoff is mentioned in every kitchen knife discussion I've ever heard. They are good but pricy. If I were more serious in the kitchen, worked in the industry, or won the lottery I would consider a full set of Wustoff.
Tell me more!! 🍿🍿
Someone's living dangerously!
