The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Oooo, look at the spiffy granite top and s/s gas stove!!! Somebody has the pimped-out version of a kitchen. I don't even own a decent kitchen knife. Speaking of (and I bet you have good knives), what do you have for a knife? I should get one - a good one. I do have a set of sharpening stones, if I'd ever sit down and learn to use them.

I always have 2-3 boxes of noodles on the shelf. And cheeses in the drawer.

This sauce turns out like I think and I'm posting the recipe.
I bought cutco knives and I hate them...cut myself everytime I use them

Morning afternoon and night all!

Been super busy with my day job and all kinds of other stuff.

When I get a chance over the weekend, I’ll have to catch up on this thread - hope I didn’t miss too much! There’s always a bit of chaos, fun, banter, wordplay… did I mention chaos??

This thread reminds me of the chase scene at the end of The Blues Brothers!

(the best comedy of all time, the best musical of all time, the best movie of all time!)

Question of the day: what is your all-time favorite movie if you can narrow it down to one?

“ look, disco pants, and haircuts!”

It’s Friday!!

She has resting cat face.... if that isn't a "dont f wit me" look i dont know what is.

Hi ethyl ...soft kitty ,..pretty kitty...little ball of fur.......purr purr purr

She does. Ethyl is opinionated. She does the lap Kitteh thing sometimes, when it suits her. Ethyl thinks that the world should act on what she thinks.

And for your health and well-being, don't eff with Ethyl.

You nailed it with the Blues Brothers as my favorite comedy after Airplane

It is amazing the games employers will pay. I am under no illusion there, and I keep my stuff close to the chest. I would say my big gripe is that there is no standard of excellence. No one is expected to improve. The good employees are supposed to drag lazy dumb asses on their coattails to be a "team player" and spoon feed them because they don't (cant) figure out how to get their work done without a LOT of help. And when held accountable it is a whine fest and I dont understand the workload. Literally the worker with a masters and a certification this am reminded me to do the database for reporting and that I was late...ummm the database is done and has been for a week.... you ingest your own data...I am not doing it for you. This is the same person who blamed me that she was out of the loop and refuses to go to the manager for clarification on her needs .......

I'm just gearing up to see my way clear to Formal Employment through the end of next year. I think that I can pull that off.

Masters means nothing! Employers get sucked in by it without realising they are employing a dumb ass. The fact is until you put someone in the job, monitor them, assess them and deal with under performance you never get a good person in the right job.

I have managed, teams, divisions, and individuals. You have to be ruthless as a manager but a lot don’t have the bottle and consequently lose the good staff.

Sorry you feel like this and I am not trying to be harsh but the answer is in your own hands…..walk if you can it’s the only way you will effect change in your employment life.

Good luck and having been where you are I empathise!
