The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Hoping you're sleeping while I'm typing.

Last job I had (for real), I was there almost 7 years. When I was assigned Out West the first time, I was working with this guy from Louisiana. I found out he was getting another $400/month in expense allowance that I wasn't, so I raised Hell with the PM (nicely, I think) and got the increase in my allowance, too. No back pay. The next updated employee manual that came through first of the following year had a new tidbit that employees were forbidden to discuss their compensation with another co-worker. So I referred to it as the Wat rule. Still, I never knew what the other supervisors were making, and I'd like to think that they didn't know what I was making.

Raises are between you and management.
It is amazing the games employers will pay. I am under no illusion there, and I keep my stuff close to the chest. I would say my big gripe is that there is no standard of excellence. No one is expected to improve. The good employees are supposed to drag lazy dumb asses on their coattails to be a "team player" and spoon feed them because they don't (cant) figure out how to get their work done without a LOT of help. And when held accountable it is a whine fest and I dont understand the workload. Literally the worker with a masters and a certification this am reminded me to do the database for reporting and that I was late...ummm the database is done and has been for a week.... you ingest your own data...I am not doing it for you. This is the same person who blamed me that she was out of the loop and refuses to go to the manager for clarification on her needs .......
