California roll call

Say a town you know people will disagree about, and put the most controversial regional label you can on it :)

Or, reduce controversy with something like "East Contra Costa County, off the Bay/Delta part of Highway 4"

Or really stir the shit by calling it "The 4" as if you're from a certain other part of the state!

I was kind of just being a little bit of a pot stirrer when I wrote all that about what was Norcal what is SoCal and what’s the bay area. It is heavily debated and people use different terms meaning different things and so I thought that it would be kind of funny to drop it in there. As for saying what city I live in, that’s not something that I share so I’m not gonna do that. we all live in California and that is our connection. 🌸
if people want to share with one another that's what PM are for. As for the debate it was a good one I live in Northern California but was raised in southern California and I still say "The" in front of a highway 😆

I stay out of the NorCal, SoCal stuff but once while driving across the line through Yuma Arrizona I saw a truck with NoCal on the back window.

Kudos Arizona dude for spreading humor.

BTW it’s I-5 not The Five.

Jeez Louise 🤷🏻‍♀️

Evening y’all. I hope Monday treated you all well.
I’m curious what your favorite thing about living in California is?
The weather the beach, the beaucoast lines to the beautiful mountains, the wine and the California girls

I’m curious what your favorite thing about living in California..

There are bumps in the road but we are fortunate to benefit from a succession of people who exercised good governance for the benefit of the people. Our University system is second to none, we lead the world in technology, medicine and Arts.

None of that is an accident and it starts with good governance.

From my house it’s 45 minutes to the beach, 4 hours to Tahoe, 2 to Napa, 6 to SoCal (if I must). Hiking, biking, pro sports galore, fishing (ocean, stream and lake). No hurricanes or tornadoes-Mediterranean weather. Silicon Valley always seems to rebound first during economic downturns.

Amen! Couldn't have said it better myself

Another great reason!

Where to start... sun, surf, great weather, and progressive mindset. What is yours, Photog1rl
I think that my favorite things are the proximity to the beach, mountains and the overall beauty. I appreciate the state parks and the variety of outdoor activiites we have available. As was mentioned the fairly progressive mindsets, weather, educational systems and overall culture all add to the specialness that is California.
I was born and raised here but moved east for four years of college. I enjoyed the other places I have lived but I know I need to live near a body of water, preferably the ocean.

I feel that at times we take it for granted living here. I also went to college back east in New England huge culture shock and nit just the weather. I've visited family and friebds all over this country. They're lovely places but nothing beats California. Everything you all have mentioned makes me appreciate it so much more.
