Many breeds have a rescue site. You can fill out the adoption questionnaire and send it in. When approved, they will add you to their adoption list.

Alas, having my own house tigers decades ago landed me with a viscous cat allergy. No more living pets for me.

I have such anxiety lately.like even thinking about having to care for another living being makes me feel panicked....being an er nurse broke something in me.... I have nursing ptsd---- self diagnosed

I'm so sorry, sweetie! ER Nursing is the hardest, I think. It's constant chaos, little structure, dangerous, frequently understaffed. You have to take all comers and be able to field every diagnosis and treatment. And don't even get me started on people using the ER inappropriately or as their PCP. Then there's the boarding of patients...

I can see how you would be burned out. Your task is to take care of yourself, be nice to K, put yourself first. I know it's hard to do when you're so used to being the caretaker of others, and not just at work.

It did! Pleasantly surprised. Usually it just delays them.
Today was 76 F (@ 24.4 C) and only 30% humidity. Very bright - I needed 2 pair of shades!! (That almost brought the migraine back - bless whomever invented sunglasses!!!)
Most of my friends would have wanted a few more degrees of heat.
I was so overheated from just a couple errands in the same strip mall that I had to cool down before I could even think of eating dinner.
So annoying!

90s is great!!! When my water bed heater worked, I'd go from 85° in the Summer to 90° in the Winter. Silly bed. I still love it. Had it since 1989. Hahah

That is actually OK with me. As long as the waterebed approximates body temperature, it's fine. I've slept on a COLD waterbed. It was no fun at all!
