The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Mornin! Happy day of fries. Work this week has been really crazy. But I am off today to hang out with my friends, one of whom is in town from Arizona.

Got decent sleep for the first night in a week. Feel refreshed.

A few errands to run and having lunch with a bunch of my old local friends while my buddy is in town. one of the crew had really bad MS, so he may or may not be able to make it. 🙁

Enjoy your coffee all!!

Glad for sleep and friends

Happy Friday!!! Dinner was burgers at a Meh place. I'm not a fan, but W liked it, and he was paying, so . . . . T is having issues with his senile mother. There is a "religious" leech who has affixed itself to her and her accounts, and the kids are trying to keep Mom from being made to buy her way into Heaven. Guy could use a visit from thugs, really. But, not mine to deal with.

The landlady is headed to town for errands, and then she comes back and then we go back for lunch. I'll try to get a few things arranged around here while she's out, and there are a couple of them which can be loaded on the truck to head Back East tomorrow.

Meanwhile, coffee cuppa #2.

We eat a lot of pheasant and partridge. Wild goose gets smoked or made into burgers. Duck, pigeon and other stuff goes into game terrine I make plus the above.

I occasionally get given a deer in skin which I sort, butcher and freeze. Last venison we had left went into pies. You wouldn't know it wasn't steak. Slow cooked in Guiness with onions and mushrooms. Reduced then put in the pie cases.
That sounds excellent! I have not had pheasant in ages.

In return for letting them hunt on our form, one of my neighbors often gives me some excellent venison dishes. I think they were very gamy, but the way my neighbor makes it, (makes that fancy chef move kissing thumb and index finger…) vennison stroganoff, very good hearty venison stew, jerky, burgers, sausage. Really good!

He does all the butchering himself and has a great set up! He gets his limit almost every year in New Jersey, and also hunts in Pennsylvania. They have a ginormous freezer and eat venison all year around.

My ex father-in-law was an avid duck Hunter and often brought duck. A little too fatty for my taste, but every once in a while…

I have relatives and work for a company in Germany, and apparently pigeon and dove are quite a delicacy there… I’ve never had it it… don’t think I want to try. 😬

A fellow poster on lit, told me that one of their friends gave them some wild oryx. Said it was good…

Contact your county on the office of the aging. They will be more familiar with how to proceed and have the access to legal council in to protect her and her assets. At least report it and they may be able to guide her family. Sometimes they have experienced it in the past and can get certain records and verify identification and standings with an organization. At times we all need advocates.

Taking a page from @likes2watchU ‘s technique! She’s is very efficient!
Good Morning everyone (or afternoon)
I'm awake at least, many coffee's later & out to garage sales today
Sounds fun! Keep us posted on any good finds!! Before we bought our farmland, my wife and I (and sometimes my sister) used to do a lot of antiquing and junking.

I sort of miss it, but we don’t have much time anymore… I get my fix by leasing our barn out to a kid who does house clean outs, flea markets and that kinda stuff. He has definitely located some good signs and cool stuff for me.

Sounds like you had a good time wat. The company is always more important than the food.

Be careful heading back east.

I'm pretty sure that he's all over that, and his sister and brother are helping, too. I think what is annoying him most is having to do it in the first place, and that a so-called clergyman is a scam artist. Preying on people's fears - I know, imagine that. Between the clergy and the politicians . . . and that's quite enough of that.

Well they will know whether anything was signed over to him personally or the church and if the church who would be the administrator of the account as well as if the administrator can withdraw servicing fees. The bank may also cooperate if she has any signs of diminished capacity.
