The main purveyors of "anti-woke" are in a downward spiral re: publicity (DeSantis, Musk, etc). Pretty much everyone else who's pushing it has overstepped and slipped up, too.
They needed to make sure "anti-woke" couldn't be dismissed as plain ol' racism. They failed miserably from the start by appropriating the language, and haven't fixed anything since then.
Their little movement is dying out by the day.

"woke" is a recognition that the world and humanity within it is constantly evolving and changing and adapting, and usually that is an effort to improve the world and humanity. Being "woke" occurs when there is a change that is overdue and important and for the better and you take the often uncomfortable and/or uneasy step to bring change because of that. Not everyone reaches a stage where they are mature enough to handle change or not so selfish that they are willing to change so then they falsely try to make " woke" into a negative, but that only ends up exposing themselves as immature and selfish. It's not the best branding, but the message is remarkably clear actually.

True about the Republicans. However, the Democrats didn't codify Roe v Wade even when they controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress, and Biden supports the filibuster. The Democrats also ban thinking, or want to, when it comes to their warmongering in Ukraine.
This is important to point out, because Democrats seek to portray themselves as the enlightened, sane and sensible ones, in contrast to the psycho Republicans. The Republicans want to attack women's rights and intensify a culture war (which the Democrats are fine with, as it distracts people from attacking the rich), and the Democrats just want to make rich women have a greater share in the wealth of rich men and call it "progress".

Wow, yeah that’s pretty sad. I met him here in the How To forum; he was Query then. In my early days at Lit, I didn’t really venture out of the HT Forum. When I finally did branch out, Que was one of the first people I noticed who was different in different forums. But, also, it makes sense to be helpful and kind in the HT forum given the nature of that forum, so I don’t think him being different there than the GB is suspicious or anything. Just surprised me at the time to see the years long GB battles.
I have noticed that he didn’t seem to be here in recent years, none of the alts that really seemed to be him have posted in some time.
I know he didn’t exactly have a lot of friends here and he and I wouldn’t have actually gotten along in real life, but I am sad to hear of his passing.
I take no joy in anyone passing. But we all will one day. Life goes on.
Do you support racism? Discrimination? Irrational hatred, of different genders, ethnicities, or cultures, without any justification? Do you think the Apartheid regime was noble and just, and/or would you support the return of Jim Crow laws?
Because these things are evil, and no, that is not subjective, these things are EVIL because they cause harm, oppression and injustice. If you do NOT support these things- and most good, decent people likewise do not- then you, too, are "woke."
