Work is improving a bit. The PM got a bit antsy about some shit that isn't holding anything up but that he decided needed to be done already - until he saw the bill. Wat had sorted it for way cheaper. And apparently, there's something in Wat's delivery and engagement which really seems to get their attention. And there is also something about his demeanor when they fuck up, like he convinces them that he is de meaner one in the conversation. Almost nobody wants those little chats.


We did have one sub at my old place of employment. They were the owner's ace in the hole. Their bid on the last job I worked there was $700K lower than the next one for a $2M contract. They left small fortune on the table, but the customer also got some lame-ass work. We were expected to manage them. That was the pits. My Spanish is good enough to assert my will. These asshats were Brazilians. And sloppy. I have stories. I got to the point that I used to browbeat the supervisor daily in the hopes that he'd actually manage his people just so I would shut up. Then I got a better offer elsewhere and left. Thing is, I didn't need the negativity. But they were the worst ever, and it was a happy day when I put all of their contacts out of my phone.

It's always refreshing to clean out your phone! You don't need to carry that negativity around with you!

I colored my hair for a while when I first started noticing grey. I was a natural redhead, a dark auburn, so I just used a color closest to my natural. My hair was really long, nearly waist-length, and curly. After I retired, I fell and broke my arm so needed help with my hair. It's baby-fine; my H couldn't really manage it without causing me pain. So.... I had it cut. Then I stopped coloring. Now I have short, curly, grey hair and I love it!

Good for the girls! Keep those boyz in line! 😆😆

Happy Friday. Half a day at work today - the knock-off-at-noon type and not the 12-hour shift type. The truck is fueled and ready to hit the road. I have to pack and load yet, but we're good. Wats pack quickly.

I'm reading my latest copy of Easyriders, a bike/biker mag. I read it for the bikes. I'm also reading Blues for Cannibals by Charles Bowman. Essays/commentary, that kind of thing. And I need to pick back up and finish Liddell-Hart's Scipio Africanus.

No. We were ok. Hard rain and a few really strong gusts. But nothing like they had just 10 mi north. Was in that area WED and today. Some spots were like a war zone. And I’ve been in some! 😂
