On the other hand, there is a guy with some lovely inventory and a postal address in the same town where Wat's current work assignment is. And it's legal to do long guns as an out-of-state buyer. He has a gorgeous match grade May of 1941 Winnie for sale.

It's pricey . . . .

They all are. Got to talking to my gunsmith about M1's this AM and he pulled a couple out of his safe, a VERY decent condition Springfield and a PRISTINE Harrington & Richardson. The latter appears to be damn near presentation grade.

Home from my road trip. There were, all told, 4 major libturd triggers out flapping, and as you might suspect (or already know), that amuses Wat muchly.


They delivered my new M1 stock - reproduction, so it's newnew. And it's a damned handsome grouping of Wooden Bits. They almost look grain-matched, which is a cabinet/furniture wood wright thing. Now I have to decide what color they want to be. I'm thinking, lots of polish sanding (600-grit) and natural.

There was a little herd of Bambis Out West. They weren't skittish. One stood and watched me as if to ask what I was doing on his/her lot. I should have reminded them who makes the money and pays the fucking taxes.

Happy Memorial Day weekend Sunday!!! Tomorrow, I shall take a walk to the government cemetery and ponder the headstones near the road. Most of the people/soldiers buried there are of the unknown variety. There are a couple dozen near the road who have names and dates, their time in the dash passed 70 years ago. I noticed years ago that most of those guys were born around the end of WW1 and served in WW2 and died a few years later. It's like some Agent Orange thing killed them off. Perhaps they spent some time near some nuke testing. I have no answers but I have always wondered about them and how they seemed to have gotten robbed of a more typical three score and ten lifespan.
