Monday, April 15th: First Ever Criminal Trial for a Former US President

It REALLY would be helpful if you klowns would actually read what's been going on before you opine about stuff you're ignorant of. In this case Trump wrote checks from his revocable trust account for the legal fees NOT the business account.

I'd tell you to get your act together BUT stuffing your foot into your mouth seems to be an unbreakable habit for the lefties around here.
To the benefit of knowledgeable people.

No it doesn't. It speaks to a manufactured motivation. His real motivation is the harm his actions might bring to his family and his wife. NDA's are legal.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How’s the Kool-aide?

Please hold your breath, at least until the jury returns their verdict, preferably until the orange turd exhausts his appeals.

The prosecution can only convict IF the behavior is unlawful. So, the question remains, are the words Trump spoke illegal?

If you say yes, please provide statutory references showing that speaking those specific types of words is unlawful.

Please note; the words Trump spoke are not threatening nor do they show an intent to commit a crime.
There is no need to 'quote'; just sit back and let the jury decide. That is the key to determining whether Trump committed a crime.

That's the flip side of the testimony so far. It is not being entered into evidence is it? Who would testify to that? Donald? Seems likely he would sleep through that episode.

Your take on what was presented is fantasy and without merit. And yes, NDAs are legal. That's not relevant, and as usual, you are off base and beating that drum repeatedly without success here.

A State prosecutor has an affirmative duty to only bring prosecutions if there is sufficient evidence that a rational prosecutor will believe that he will obtain a conviction based solely on that evidence.

If the conduct which is alleged doesn't rise to criminal acts, then any prosecution is unlawfully brought and any verdict is null.

So I ask again, are the words which Trump spoke illegal?

Bragg's whole case is a manufactured exercise in election interference. There is no case and Bragg has zero authority to prosecute a federal statute violation. According to the DOJ and the Federal Election Commission who looked at this years ago and both determined there was no crime.

You, having little education, have been propagandized and put forward by the left as cannon fodder for more informed intellects to blow into smithereens daily. The political battlefield is strewn far and wide with the carcasses of the left and their whining wounded nursing their injuries but also their bruised egos, armed with nothing but a box of diapers and a list of grievances longer than a CVS receipt..

The left always goes too far, they are less intelligent, uninformed, totally propagandized, and easily guided towards political disaster. They are lazy, they eat too much, they are crude and unpolished, their women fat and ugly, and their men weak and feminized insult the great history of American manhood.

Which fat guy wears Depends - the one in the defense chair or the white knight sitting on the judge's bench?

Does Bragg have zero authority? Yet, here we are, in a criminal trial case with a duty-appointed judge, a mutually selected jury, a DA that is prosecuting the case, and no one from any other legal higher entity is stepping in to halt those crude, fat, and ugly women nor those weak feminized men for carrying out this trial.

People honoring our justice system allow the jury to determine an appropriate outcome. Those sanguine individuals are not railing about 'insulting the great history of American manhood,' which, by the way, is not on trial.

The 'carcasses' that seem to be getting carried are those whose heads were attached to Trump's behind: those sycophants pending trials, those already tried and in jail, and those who realized too late they were pawns of Trump such as the fake electors. Hopefully, those in Congress also get carried out during the next election cycle.

There are no mass waves of red-capped Trump agitators standing out front waving Trump flags and spears. Trump claimed they were prevented from showing up and blocked from getting to the courthouse he railed from behind portable fencing. He displayed his infantile disappointment over that. [Can we say the no-show crowds are due to a lack of interest?]

Did you take your meds today?

That last paragraph you wrote is full of nonsense. It doesn't put you in a good light with anyone on either side of this trial or with readers here. It's that type of cannon fodder you penned that traps you in your weakened state of denial as others read and recognize the danger in your weak right-wing rhetoric. Despite your claim to quality education, your post is actually a very muddled hate-speak.

No wonder you are held in such disregard in the politics forum. Is that true elsewhere?

Friday, the latest evidence read into the record about a Trump tweet points to his knowledge that he knew about the purpose of the hush money payments to Michael Cohen. One more 'bullet' the DA can use in the Russian roulette revolver the jury gets to hear before they pull the trigger in judgment of ex-president Trump. Monday, Michael Cohen is expected to testify and fill the other five chambers of that revolver. Proof enough for a full verdict beyond a reasonable doubt is the hope of the DA – and many here following the chain of events in NY. [See link below.]

Meanwhile, Trump faces another recent IRS revelation that he may own over 100m dollars for double dipping tax deductions in another NY issue regarding a sleight-of-hand shuffling of the financial deck of cards that he used to build his empire. So Trumpian, he is following, again, the footsteps of his hero Al Capone into the bowels of the IRS.

Aside from when all political gab was on the General Board before this specific forum was made, he's never posted anywhere else but here.

He never came here for the smut and sex talk, that's for damn sure! :ROFLMAO:

….

The left always goes too far, they are less intelligent, uninformed, totally propagandized, and easily guided towards political disaster.
And yet you support trump. For some reason you are blind to who this man truly is. MAGATs in general embody your above comments.

They are lazy, they eat too much, they are crude and unpolished, their women fat and ugly, and their men weak and feminized insult the great history of American manhood.
Pretty funny look in the MAGAT mirror.

Poor HisArpy keeps searching in vain for a "smoking gun", seemingly unaware that in many legal cases, there is none.

Mob boss John Gotti never gave a direct order to "whack" somebody, yet he still was convicted of his criminal conspiracy and died in prison.

Hopefully, Mob boss Donald J. Trump will follow Gotti's less-than-stellar career denouement.

As a non American with absolutely no affiliation to the place both politically and geographically, I would love to see the POS die in a prison. I cannot tell you how much I despise this poor excuse of a human being. I believe in extermination of bad actors to make the world a better place and he is one of the many I would like to see removed from society permanently.
Agreed. Trump is a poor excuse as an example of a human being well beyond these charges. His crime, in this case, doesn't warrant extermination at most; according to the statutes, he could get a maximum of four years in prison. The irony of the situation is that if elected again, he would get out of prison at about the same time as the end of his incarceration for election fraud charges.

Imagine hearing Trump deliver a State of the Union address from jail or overseeing a ceasefire in Ukraine from behind bars. Imagine being a Secret Service agent and spending your time in jail guarding him. How great a resume entry would that be for an agent?

Imagine a world where dignitaries would have to arrive at prison to be received by the President. Talking about humiliation for America.

I'd like to see him defeated at the ballot box in November by a resounding count and then confined to house arrest at Mira-a-Lago for four years. It would save his fellow prisoners the embarrassment of sharing an exercise yard with him or cleaning up his residence at the jail.

The DA thinks so, as evidenced by the grand jury's indictment and the current court case, your posturing is notwithstanding. Keep asking, but don't expect anyone to spoon-feed you with what is already self-evident.

It's important to avoid premature conclusions. As you are not a part of the legal proceedings, it's crucial to refrain from making definitive statements about the nature of the conduct. You have no way to refute the DA at this point. That's up to the jury.

Just sit back and wait for a verdict, then you can crow if Trump escapes justice as 'Teflon Don' again.

Paralegal Testimony: Alvin Bragg’s Office Tampered With Evidence

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s paralegal testified on Friday that his office deleted from their evidence three pages of phone records between convicted liar Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Keith Davidson without notifying former President Donald Trump’s legal team, according to reports.

Trump attorney Emil Bove questioned paralegal Jaden Jarmel-Schneider on Friday about three pages of 2018 phone records between Davidson and Cohen that Bragg’s office had deleted, according to CNN. Additional phone records between Daniels manager Gina Rodriguez and then-National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard regarding Daniels’ claim about her alleged affair were also deleted, according to The Epoch Times.

The altered call records were submitted into evidence, but Bragg’s office did not tell Trump’s team that three pages were missing, The Epoch Times reported.

Tampering with evidence is a class E felony in the Empire State under New York Consolidation Laws, Penal Law § 215.40, which states in part:

Was this covered on CNN? Just wondering.

"(Trump) said to me, ‘This is a disaster, a total disaster, women are going to hate me. This is really a disaster. Women will hate me. Guys, they think it’s cool. But this is going to be a disaster for the campaign,’" Cohen testified.

Trump told him to stop Daniels’ story from getting out, he testified. Trump said at the time, "I want you to just push it out as long as you can, just get past the election, because if I win it will have no relevance because I'm president, and if I lose, I don't even care," according to Cohen.
While discussing the Stormy Daniels deal, Michael Cohen said he raised Melania to Trump.

"Don't worry, he goes how long do you think I’ll be on the market for? Not long. He wasn’t thinking about Melania. This was all about the campaign."

Trump smirked and shook his head when Cohen made his remarks about Melania.

trump put out a call for his adoring 'people' to be there in the court room showing him support, because the lack of them being there looks bad on him and having them there might make the jury see him in a different light: so today vance (a VP hopeful), tubberville, and iowa AG were there. i'm sure we'll see more shortly.

On the tape, Donald Trump asked if they had to pay $150,000 for the Karen McDougal story.

"He already knew based upon conversation with David which is why he mentioned the number 150," Cohen testified in court.

On the call, Trump says, "pay with cash"
Michael Cohen said he recorded the September 6, 2016, call with Donald Trump and that it was the only time he recorded a call in 10 years of working for him.

"It was so I could show it to David Pecker and that way he would hear the conversation, that he would know that we’re going to be paid, Mr. Trump is going to be paying him back," Cohen said.

"I also wanted him to remain loyal to Mr. Trump," Cohen said.

The jury is shown the side agreement between David Dennison and Peggy Peterson.

These are pseudonyms: Peggy Peterson for Stormy Daniels and David Dennison for Trump.

Trump's name was nowhere on the agreement and he did not sign it, according to Cohen, "because the purpose of it was to ensure his name didn't appear anywhere because he's the candidate for president of the United States of America and this would not have been in his benefit to do so."

Weisselberg suggested Cohen take the money as income rather than as untaxed reimbursements, Cohen testified. "I didn’t really think about it. I just wanted to get my money back,” he said.
According to Cohen, they agreed that Trump would pay him $420,000 in all: $130,000 to reimburse him for the payment to Daniels, $50,000 to reimburse him for unrelated tech services, $180,000 to account for estimated taxes and a $60,000 bonus. The payments would be made over 12 months “as like a legal service rendered since I was then going to be given the title of personal attorney to the president,” Cohen testified.

They presented the plan to Trump, and he approved it, Cohen said. The payments were designed to look like future legal services, but they were actually reimbursement for the Daniels’ deal, he testified.

Well, we'll see if the GOP mafia machine can get their John Gotti off the hook in this case. Meanwhile, the Federalist Society directed its judges to delay the other federal cases until after the election.

Organized crime has a long reach.

Looks like pretty much all the Deomcrat attempts at lawfare against Trump are evaporating away.

At this point they're just trying to waste his time and prevent further election campaigning, but even that is failing.

Good news all around. 😀

Not quite yet.

Hopefully after November, if Trump is elected for a second term, is when the lawfare participants are going to FO about election interference.
