It really is! I have even been working on a lot of new material too, really was excited to get it published over the next few weeks and finish the novel. I’m so close! That’s why this crucial story being rejected is so infuriating.

I’ll sleep on it and think over what I do next - really not up for compromising any further on my work though, it’s just getting to the point where @Wriggle ‘s point about making it worse to get through is actually looking sensible and I’m not up for that. I have standards I want to reach, even if it’s not going to set the world alight.

So I have sussed this now.

Pure crap is obviously not written by AI. So gets through.

But when I read or hear AI answers it is obvious that there are no obscurities in there that could be imagined by a human mind - no nuance, no subtleties, and the only metaphor/simile/analogies are basic, cliché or plagiarism.

If we write Hemingway-esque purest writing - it gets flagged as AI.
You just need to unsimplify your writing by sticking made up words and stupid references into it.

this is why mine get published quickly... utter drivel and nonsense words. Even a ZX Spectrum could write better

Well here I am back in the U.K. I am not going to try and catch up but start the day with a “Good Morning Lovely People!” Whilst staring at my 125 work emails I need to tackle today.

Yep, and I really thought I had it in me, but prior to the last 19 stories published, I had over thirty rejections for AI.

I went out of my way to change the writing style massively to get it through, stopped using Grammarly, shortened the stories and generally have jumped through all of the hoops needed to publish.

I just cannot believe I am back to this. It’s so depressing.

I've not submitted anything since 2022 so I've never ... the expression is come up against this but that feels very wrong!

I think I’m done here. I had one month of happy writing, managed to get some stories published, but I get in from work tonight and I get another AI rejection after submitting a story two weeks ago.

I really cannot be doing with this constant battle with the moderators (where the hell is this AI nonsense for some of the absolute crap that gets published by other authors?) so I am mulling over withdrawing the stories and going elsewhere.

Sorry for the rant but I thought I was over this AI nonsense hurdle.

I have just noticed that one of our resident genocidal nut jobs on this forum has popped up in the UK thread to leave a laughing emoji on my post from last night.

Not content to leave her behaviour on the Politics Board, she’s come over here to harass me.

She’s already on ignore, so any posts she writes I won’t see, but how sad must your life be to actively want to kill thousands of children and also harass someone on the open forum?

I mean, calling for the destruction of an entire people is bad enough, but laughing at my misfortune - how dare she?
