Keep a sketchbook/journal

if I had the energy, I would be replying to some of your thread revivals
Such as it is.

Those with interest (that'd be just you) don't have the energy (currently).

Those with energy, have no interest, or nothing interesting to say.

Hey@THROBBS ! I played with layers and I figured out how to trace an image! Now I don’t have to draw freehand anymore…isn’t that fantastic? I can just trace over pictures of naked men and naked women and it will be so much easier and so much more accurate than this tedious freehand drawing business that I’ve been messing around with! This is my first effort. I know it’s not a naked man or a naked lady. It’s just a bird, but I thought it was awfully cute and a good place to start my new tracing career! (I know and I agree. This is tongue in cheek. Although I am pleased with myself for figuring out how to use layers!) @THROBBS , I repeat, this is a joke. We are both on the same page about passing off “tracing techniques” as original art. View attachment 2342735

yep

Tho', seriously, tracing does have its place in learning.
Can help to understand contours.

Back on topic (of this thread), let's keep sketch books.
Which, of course, can be digital sketchbooks.

I'll be heading to Joann (maybe Michael's) and hope to pick up some more blanks.

Record them ideas, observations, concepts, thoughts, sights.

I have more notebooks, sketchbooks, journals, scraps of paper and folders than I can count. These are filled. I also have an assortment of sketchbooks and journals which are partially filled. I’m breaking the rules again by posting something non-erotic but this is a series of pages I did last spring when I was in the unfortunate position of spending way too long on hold. Hurray!

No rule against non-erotic/ Especially on THIS thread which is about Journal skerttchbooks.

I did get a couple new blanks. Holy crap! The prices have sky rocketed since the last time I bought some.
I'll be watching for sales.

No life drawing scheduled for today, so I did not miss any. Whew! WIll try to make it for next Saturday.

Hooray for new for new sketchbooks!

I’m going to try to post a sketch on this thread each day. Try. I’m limiting it to 10 minutes so I don’t feel overwhelmed by the project. This is today’s effort.IMG_0812.png

Bravo!
I took some notes of nut sizes! LOL
Scouted the neighbors' attic for leaks. Put in a catch pan, for the time being.
Disemboweled their lawn mower (which I use to cut their lawn) to get the drive belt off for replacement.

drawing....? nah.

You did a lot! You are officially excused from drawing!

It's good to mix it up — draw hard things, then draw soft things, then put them together.

This is all I’ve had time to do so far today sketchbook wise. It’s another sketch of my wrist (with dangling finger) View attachment 2343670in a waiting room. That seems to be what my wrist and I do.
