Anyone who is not scared of a moose close up and personal is either a dumbass, or a liar.

They are big and can hurt you! I would be scared to encounter one close up!

I'm not afraid of moose, but I won't go closer than 100 ft. I have cousins in NH & Maine who won't get close either.

I took a guided wildlife tour in Lincoln, NH to see live Moose up close (which I'd did, too close)
Beautiful creatures, enormous and beautiful

Not sure if it’s in order…will have to work or edit if not. Basically these three shots show the rot on the trunk. You can see how long the tap root is, and when I pruned, I left a lot more than normal…in fact I did a lot of things “not normal” just to make sure the plant survived.

When ordering the sulphate mixture last week, I neglected to get the Jin&Shari tool …couldn’t wait anymore so just got a sharp Buck knife and whittled away. I’ll post those tomorrow.

Productive day.

I finished off the deck. Added the stairs and trex decking. I really wanted to do a picture frame deck pattern but was pressed for time and just went for a traditional pattern. Still turned out nicely I thought.

Then after dinner, I took my lawn mower down to the farm (my neighbor lets me cut thru his field) and mowed the farm yard.

I did find a tick on me so now I am itchy EVERYWHERE…

He likes broccoli, cashews, lettuce, purple asparagus and forsythia flowers. He doesn’t like canned cat food much, but he’s a really good mouser.

A guy was relating a story about two buddies of his. They are hunting guides out west. Grizzly country….not afraid of the Grizz but deathly afraid of coming between a momma moose and calf!

Yes! A box turtle’s carapace my kid found on a hike on a local nature trail. It’s become my good luck, tool holder, object of discussion during parties!
