Monday, April 15th: First Ever Criminal Trial for a Former US President

I presented it as an informational read. It's targeted to objective readers not Trump haters. You have the option to gloss over it, ignore it or read it for a different angle and formulate your own opinion. If it's a TOS violation it was not my intention.
It wasn't Trump's intention for any of this to get out. In fact, at the trial today, Pecker says Trump told him 'things like this always get out.' But in the end, Trump did it anyway. Go figure - not so smart after all. Maybe he should have taken his on SAT test rather than hire someone to take it for him, allegedly.

'The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

Explosive testimony from the David Pecker, the former CEO of the National Enquirer today about his criminal conspiracy with Donald Trump to commit election fraud. He ran a "catch and kill" operation, buying up the exclusive rights to any news story that would be damaging to Trump and making sure it never saw the light of day. This provides context for Trump's use of election funds to bribe Stormy Daniels.

The fact that Trump used NDAs in the past is testament that election fraud didn’t exist. You could put several congress critters in the slammer for the same charges.

1. This is std procedure for any high profile person. It's so copmonly done YOU can even hire internet services to "clean" your internet presence of negative information.

2. Trump is accused of using PERSONAL funds to pay Daniels, not campaign funds. The theory is that because he did it to prevent his campaign from suffering a publicity hit he should have used campaign money instead of his own. So what you post is false.

For people secure in their elections, Americans sure were resistant to investigating too hard.

Then again, vote fraud is a longstanding American tradition.

Fox News?

Where to start? So many errors in the article are wrong, but just for fun here are a few things that standout:

  • Pejorative DA term: 'nefarious scheme' similar to 'crooked DOJ' or 'sleepy-eyed Joe'?
  • Pejorative terms by Fox: 'minion, Colangelo,' 'lawfare,' 'unprincipled trickster,' 'liars who cannot be trusted'
BTW, according to legal experts, conspiracy does not have to be charged under NY law. Just FYI to Fox.

The defense, poor as it seems, doesn't have to prove Trump is innocent; the DA is required by law to show Trump is guilty in the eyes of twelve jurors.

The legal approach used by the DA is standard law 101. Lay the foundation, build the credibility brick by brick, and as the trial progresses, pave the path to how all the actions by Trump's cabal meet the definition of election criminality.

Oh, Bragg is not charged in this case - how did that get into the article - typos?
He’s being tried in a NY court.

Bragg’s strategy is to present a none criminal case in such a convoluted manner as to confuse the jury. Justice the democrat way. Process over justice.

I Thought the Bragg Case Against Trump Was a Legal Embarrassment. Now I Think It’s a Historic Mistake.

The evidence of it being election money is not relevant. The charges for the misdemeanor portion are that Trump misrepresented the purpose of writing the checks to Cohen as business deductions, rather than hush money payments. Trump violated state and federal laws for tax reporting. Secondly, the charges rise to the level of criminal acts when Trump, Pecker, and Cohen conspired to conceal that the payments were made to hide the impact on Trump's election chances. This is contrary to the claim that the payments were made to protect his family from emotional harm.

The AG must prove they conspired to hide the stories to affect the outcome of the election. That's the aim of the trial.

How is it that you miss the obvious?

The NDA is not the issue in the trial, nor that Trump made the payments. It's how he 'booked' the false write-off and how he conspired with Cohen and Pecker to use the ruse to hide it from the public to affect the outcome of the election.

The DA has a lot to present to raise it to that level, but he is confident that it will.

BREAKING NEWS: DA Alvin Bragg has amended Trump's criminal indictment in the so-called "hush money" case to include one charge of Felony Flatulence. If convicted of the charge, the former president faces up to one year in solitary confinement with his own gas, and will only be fed Chipotle.
You are going to be so in ... trouble with McDonald's over that blatant Joe Biden led attack. You did see the numerous bags of McDonald's food going into the courthouse today, right?

Righty is going to challenge that this is a felony-level charge brought about by a crooked Trump-hating leftist DA put on this trial case by crooked Joe Biden to attempt to ruin the good name of DT. Melody, er, Melania will be really upset that he faces flatulence charges again. She just bought a new butt plug for that.

Cohen wrote the checks. Cohen was guilty of tax evasion. The misdemeanor has passed the statute of limitations. The case is a sham case. The only party guilty of election fraud or election interference is Bragg!!!!

Not to affect the outcome, the late charge was to buy an election. All politicians say things, do things to affect the outcome of an election. Conspiring to protect his name is not a crime. Hillary was nailed for a similar charges and was fined. Sussmann and Cohen were both paid by their boss, both lied under oath, one was convicted and one walked. Guess who walked?

He is not charged with using election or campaign funds. He is charged with 36 counts of falsifying business records.

If you're going to try and defend this, you should at least under what he is actually charged with, not what Fox ect is saying he is charged with....

And Trump could quite possibly win, or if convicted, be fined, with no jail time... but your incessant whining to try and claim Trump is some kind of angel being wrongfully prosecuted is fucking boring. Get a new hobby....

Secret Service prepares for if Trump is jailed for contempt in hush money case

https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/abcnews.go.com.icoABC|2 hours ago
The U.S. Secret Service held meetings and started planning for what to do if former President Donald Trump were to be held in contempt in his criminal hush money trial and Judge Juan Merchan opted to send him to short-term confinement, officials familiar with the situation told ABC News.
Amen

Oh, damn! Do you remember how Dewey ranted and raved that the election had been stolen from him, to the point of filing 63 lawsuits across the country (winning only one), and hatched a plan to send slates of fake electors to Congress to have himself declared President, then incited a violent mob to attack the Capitol to try to prevent the counting of the electoral votes to confirm Truman as the rightful winner of the election, then lied about the election being stolen for another four years?

No? Neither does anyone else.
