Oh, I definitely was brought up that way. There are good men who still want to make sure we're taken care of and that has nothing to do with feminism in my mind.

I can be independent and have a partner who looks after my well-being. That's just love.
Yes, I don't see it as feminist or anti-feminist, or related to that at all. I was raised by women, for the most part. I know that women are every bit as capable of doing anything as any man, do not require me to protect them.

That said, by my nature I am protective, of everyone. I honestly do the same when I am with guys as well. I subconsciously put myself between what may be dangerous. I think I learned it from my grandfather, who did the same thing. It has nothing to do with my views on the capability of other people. As I said, I am as I am.
