Sex & Shenanigans

I have comfort tv shows and books. Oddly no comfort movies though 🤷‍♀️
For me, comfort movies are:

Casablanca
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
Cabin in the Woods
(Hi V!)
Dredd (I have no idea why, but it is)
Big Trouble in Little China
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension
To Have and Have Not
Shakespeare in Love

I tend toward geeky for my comfort, obviously, but not wholly.

Cabin in the Woods is so good

I saw that movie for the first time in the last year…and have watched it twice more since then. It’s fantastic and so funny.
Have you watched the series? Takes place in NY, with four different vampires, and focuses on a familiar who has waited 10 years to become a vampire. It is so very funny, and the cast is stellar.

What We Do in the Shadows.
Shaun of the Dead.
Cabin in the Woods.
Every animated Disney movie ever!

I'm usually on my computer. 32" screen is alright. But there's something weirdly naughty about putting it on in the living room! There's not supposed to be porn in the living room. It's so out of place. Love it!

Haven't read S5 since highschool, and never heard of ACOTAR... I need to do some reading. I've been slacking...
I can’t recall how many times I’ve seen Disney animated movies … like actually. From having them on VHS … then on DVD… then getting Disney+ and being able to just throw on Tangled whenever I feel like it.

I know it would be difficult considering you have others to take into account in your home, but, it's really fun to throw on some porn on the big screen in the living room and get stoned to that, too 😂

Re-reading books sounds like an immense time investment! What would you re-read?
There are a few I reread. Some books hit far different at 55 than 15. And for a long series I am invested in, such as The Dresden Files, I will reread some or all before a new book hits.

And some are comfort books. Old friends who made me and who I love.

Also, if you have it on physical media, the deleted scenes are as funny as the ones they kept. (This is part of why I still love physical media over streaming for stuff I love).

I’m reading book three right now! It’s was on on hold for a bit, but I’m back to it. Book one kind of dragged for me and then book two was great and went really fast. Three is somewhere in the middle.

Are 4 and 5 worth it since they’re related, but not the main trilogy?
I just finished Book 3 a couple weeks ago. I have 4 and 5 but haven't started them yet.
I will say that book 3 started to drag for me about 2/3 of the way through, but the pace really picked up at the end.

I have comfort boobs. Unfortunately for me, they're on your body.

My list of comfort tv shows, books, and movies is a long one.

I'm going to cross stitch this on a throw pillow
If you make me one I swear I will love you forever.
I finally gave in to audiobooks and it was a game changer for me. I listen while I’m driving, out for a walk, doing dishes, folding laundry, etc. All the mundane stuff.
Oh yeah I love audiobooks. I have to get an Audible account one of these days.

Yeah its great. I'm a big fan. The TV show is wonderful too. 😍

Nothing in the history of the world will ever be as funny as

"Just leave me to do my dark bidding on the internet!"
"What are you bidding on?"
"I'm bidding on a table..."

Just coming to think about that scene in the middle of the day can send me into debilitating fits of giggles.

Solid list. Can't go wrong with Scott Pilgrim. Dredd is just so satisfying.

As a librarian, I feel I must say check your public library first. They probably have one or more ebook/audiobook service that puts Audible to shame and is free.

I love a lot of the Pixar movies (Brave is my current favorite though).. I love Monsters VS Aliens - that movie always makes me feel good. The remake of Hairspray… The Maltese Falcon… Captain Marvel… and The Enemy Below and Twelve O’Clock High even though there aren’t even any women in either… and another one I can’t say why, but I absolutely love the movie Christine.

But yesterday, I saw the 2020 live action Mulan for the first time. That might be one that I could add to the list. I loved that. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Really? Watch Vladislav using his freaky mesmerizing voice over the phone with customer service agents.
