Thanks, Biden!!!

TSMC’s Arizona subsidiary is set to receive up to $6.6 billion in U.S. government funding under a preliminary agreement announced by the Biden administration on Monday.

The funding, under the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act, will support TSMC’s more than $65 billion investment in three cutting-edge fabrication plants in Phoenix, Arizona, according to the nonbinding agreement.
The Taiwanese multinational semiconductor company is also eligible for around $5 billion in proposed loans under the CHIPS Act.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said at a news briefing that the agreement was “huge,” adding that the partnership with TSMC will bring “the manufacturing of the world’s most advanced chips to American soil.”

According to Raimondo, the funds will include $50 million to train and develop local talent in Arizona, with TSMC Arizona having already created more than 25,000 jobs and attracted 14 semiconductor suppliers for the state.

Gee what’s all this talk about a terrorist attack. Wray concerned about open borders. How can that be? Thank God Joe’s on top of things.

Timothy McVey did not enter this country through an open border. The 911 attackers did not cross into the USA across the Mexican border-- they flew in from the middle East in accordance with entry regulations at that time. Wray was talking about copycat and current-event terrorists, who can enter the USA in the variety of ways or who can already be living here like some of the violence-promoting kooks on Lit.

Thanks, Biden, for valuing educated people in the USA and not basing your support on uneducated fear-mongering from kooks on the porn board.

Our borders encompasses a 360° perimeter around our country and into outer space. You're an ignorant moron. Million illegal got-away's roaming our country. If ISIS can attack Russia attacking us is a walk in the park.

Thanks, Biden, for recognizing that domestic terrorism is just as much of a threat to our security as foreign terrorism. We know you tried to get funding from a recent bipartisan Senate bill to fully fund Customs and Border Patrol and reduce the risk of foreign terrorists crossing our borders, but the MAGAts in the House blocked that funding upon receiving partisan political orders from their insurrectionist cult leader.

With the FISA Act renewal, we can at least continue to gather intel on foreign and in some cases domestic terrorists who are coordinating with foreign groups. Thanks also for monitoring forums such as Lit, where certain posters are promoting to take up arms against our government as a primary mode of political change rather than accepting the results of elections that have been fully adjudicated in the court system. Insurrectionist posters like that, who talk explicitly about shooting members of an opposing political party and beating up law enforcement officials, definitely need to be monitored.

It is especially important to monitor the influence of Russian assets on internet forums. We see these patsies working right here on Lit. They are either too ignorant to recognize that their "news" sources are heavily influenced by Russian intelligence agents, or in some cases they are being paid to disseminate propaganda.

I'm opposed to that act and have been since Shrub ramrodded it down our throats.

Trump agrees with your view on this and was disappointed with today's vote. But, when people start making violent plans, it's helpful to find out about them earlier rather than later.

There are other ways, including getting search warrants the normal way in regular courts.

Aliens entering our country from outer space? More likely from the inner space through volcano vents. I understand that's how many of the lizard people managed to slither out and take human form, some in the guise of Republican Senators or state congressmen/women.

Be safe, check your surroundings and your guns, and for sure, stay out of walking in the parks. They're behind the bushes. The noises you hear aren't squirrels laughing at the unlucky joggers that disappear each year.

Also, I'm certain one or two are poisoning the Literotica political thread, trying to dissuade people with the rightest propaganda.:giggle: You can spot them' by errant misuse of the apostrophe and such.

America’s enemies must be laughing their asses off at the MAGAts / "republicans” and some on the far left who are actively weakening our national security agencies and tools.

🤬

JFC

SAD!!!

Don’t be stupid. From ground to outer space means terrorist using our air space. Possible sabotage of our satellite systems. You think you’re clever but all you did was display your lack of reality to a very dangerous situation we find ourselves in as a nation thanks to our incompetent and irresponsible president. If an attack can happen in Israel and Russia only a mental midget would hide behind a false sense of security here in our own homeland. If an attack should happen this time blaming Trump won’t work. The warning lights are brightly shining.

I think you're being a bit naive about how terrorists work in an overpopulated and transient world.

I'm glad you picked up on my cleverness. Allow me a small amount of credit on the 'dolt' scale.

I do realize the dangers of our times and believe that we must become much more vigilant regarding foreign aggression. I've been a warrior, experienced combat, and know firsthand the old field marshall's adage, "No plan of operations extends with certainty beyond the first encounter with the enemy's main strength."

No need to froth over a bit of fun with your terminology. You should have led with 'using our air space.' That made it so clear now. A satellite can always be hacked, but no one needs to be in our airspace for that. Give that a minute to sink in; Russians are hacking banks here already, even when Trump was President!

Please, lose the 'mental midget' term. Today, the preferred terminology is 'little people.' You are 'people bashing' perhaps unintentionally. Just pick a better term, one with the connotation of a slur.

Every president, except Trump, has constantly surrounded himself with knowledgeable warriors who train for those scenarios. Past Presidents, Trump excluded, knew when to lead and when to turn to those warriors for plans and actions. I'm confident Homeland Security isn't sitting on their hands waiting for Trump to draw up defensive plans for terrorists in our homeland. There are NOT millions of terrorists pouring over our borders - that is Trump frothing and fomenting hate to sway opinions.

Trump, on the other hand, would be threatening to hang his staff, like he threatened Mark Millie, in Trump's inept attempt to issue inappropriate orders. He is a buffoon, incapable of directing a nation in the time of an attack. The idiot threatened 'Little Rocket Man' with nuclear war, then flew overseas to kiss his ass and write 'wonderful' love letters as he let the bastard continue developing long-range weapons capable of reaching our shores. Hell of a leader, your guy Trump.

Even George Bush, as dim a lightbulb as wrong as he was about weapons of mass destruction, knew more about the security of our nation than Trump. Trump would still be in the Mar-a-Lago bathroom looking for that classified battle plan, hoping to make some use of it. Heaven knows he never reads daily briefings; that's a proven statement. He'd be looking for some crutches for those bone spurs that kept him out of Vietnam, but not the tennis courts or golf courses.

BTW, Biden does briefings and asks questions, and no military advisors have resigned over his 'failed policies.' Can't say that for Team Trump, right?

We’re not talking about Trump here. Biden having 50+ years in politics should know better. In my opinion he’s fumbled every foreign policy issue starting with a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to his mismanagement of Iran and everything in between. He failed to lead in Ukraine using half ass measures resulting in a prolonged war allowing time for Russia to recover and build a 1 1/2 million man army. I’m not going to sit here and defend Trump, all you lefty lunes do is turn me into a water bearer and gloss over the fact that Trump had a sense for what was in our nations best interest. Biden on the other hand tends to appease when he should send a strong message i.e. the Houthis should be a pile of burning rubble sending a clear message to Iran that we’re not fucking around but instead he vacillated again using half measures. Biden does not have a sense of clear and present danger otherwise he would adhere to the FBI director and shut down the border.

I thank you for your service, no one take that honor from you.

Dude, Trump's 'Best People' are lining up to tell us that Trump didn't even know where Ukraine was. He couldn't understand that it wasn't already part of Russia, like Kursk or Tuva (except he's never heard of those places, guaranteed).

Just like he'd never heard of Puerto Rico until he had to go there and throw around some paper rolls.

Here's a less biased depiction of prices. Turns out, if you show the rest of the chart the rise isn't so dramatic.

The cost in $$ is only double what it was in 1990, even without allowing for inflation. You never had it so good.

The data is what it is. Electricity prices have soared 29.4% since January 2021. That’s about 50% more than overall inflation. Rates were relatively flat during the seven years prior to Biden taking office.

Data charts work when you see the whole picture, not some distorted portion.
