The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Funny how when we see friends or relatives we haven't seen in like awhile and we see them at a family gathering.......... topic of conversation eventually steers to what meds and what dosages we're all taking 🙄?!? Such an enjoyable topic?!?

I've come to the simple conclusion of just take the darn meds and be done with it. All im asking for my birthday is a " fancier or at least a nicer " pill box!?!?
You doctor loves you... :ROFLMAO:
I read between the lines with mine, and my wife is a retired nurse...

But if I don't take my BiPolar meds, baaaddd things happen...
I used to volunteer on the suicide hotline and the MHMR case workers always gave the number to their clients for when they were in crises.

There are telltale signs that tip you off quickly so two early questions, before they even talk much are “Did you take your meds?” and “Who is your counselor”.

It’s a chemical imbalance and nothing to be ashamed of, trouble starts when clients skip their meds, please don’t skip your meds.

They work, but only if you take them.

I never skip my meds. But I still have mood swings, and I continually fight the urge to take All of them.
This has happened seven times; the last time it happened was almost my last. I was in the psychic unit for 3 weeks

I like these wooden ones, but they're a step up in price from the plastic pill hoppers I use now.
Haaa I was only kidding about " fancier " pillboxes. As long as it says Sun thru Sat and differentiates AM and PM then I'm good. Only question is if said box is big enough to hold all my pills. I had one time counted a dozen or so pills I had to take though that was just after my surgery. Don't ask what surgery haaaa!?!?

I say go for it. If you like the wooden one then at your ummm OUR age then we deserve to get what we want. Once we pass ....... we're not taking the ZEROs before the decimal point or after with us.

OMG - I agree - keep taking your meds please and thank you!

Same with all the meds for my immune disorder. Different flavor of bad. Without them my reactions are so much worse and I'd likely be having anaphylaxis several times a week.
I am thankful not to have a disease where MH meds are required because I am wildly intolerant of anything that messes w/ serotonin. My body does not process them correctly, influenced in part by the dysfunction of my immune system. (Found out the hard way.)

My wife has this:
Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is a rare heterogeneous condition described as a series of recurrent life-threatening infections. Defective phagocyte NADPH oxidase causes the disease. The ultimate result is the inability of phagocytes such as neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages to destroy certain microbes.

And I have this Problem:

I'm an INTERSEXUAL
Intersex is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. For example, a person might be born appearing to be female on the outside, but having mostly male-typical anatomy on the inside.

Go figure

That sounds like a lot to manage between you. I hope you have a cracker-jack medical team to help you navigate. 🤗

Fish dip!!!
Not sure I want to know. "Fish dip" sounds like either a unique brand of chewing tobacco or a food crime. 🫣

Still taking your meds? I hope so!

I thought my 70s would be different than they are now. I am committed to 3 things I learned from my late wife: 1) do now not later, 2) seize the moment, 3) solutions not excuses. My 70s are now very enriched.
These are excellent lessons! I so needed this! Thank you for sharing! 💞💞
