If you’re done staring at the car, the tree behind it is a paloverde with its distinctive green trunk/branches.1947 Packard Clipper. I like the coupes. The big one was the fastest car outta Deeetroit after the war. They don't make that stuff any more, many of the sedan parts are interchangeable, and I try not to let little treasure troves pass me by.
Fender skirts optional (don't like 'em myself).

IKR? I make great steak on the grill or the stove, if I'm making steak au poivre. That’s why I mostly eat fish in restaurants cos I can’t be arsed to buy it / cook it at home. Never understand why everyone has steak out when it’s like the easiest thing to cook
It will go wherever I find a vein...Does the drip go into my arm? I don’t want coffee being pumped into other parts of me![]()

Where did you live in Scotland? Why would you leave? It's beautiful there much like the PNW, where I live. That's the hill? Really? Pfft - weak (the kids, not you)
60s with some sun here today - but everyone's talking about the wind
After a year abroad in Scotland and their windy season?
Yeah, we've got a little breeze going![]()
Holy cow! What a car!!My brother used to own a 1914 Packard Model 4-48 Runabout

I see. Google does have some pretty fine cars! For the record, that one is so not my car. That's Google's car. I have one like it which is in need of some love and care and several thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of attention. One long wheel-base and three short ones. Goal is to make a hot rod out of one (maybe all one day) of the short ones and to redo the long one as factory would have it.
I have to get back Out West for good for much to happen quickly.

Unfortunately he passed away in 2017. His wife sold the car to a collector for $340KThere's a 4-48 of the 1913 persuasion for sale currently, phaeton body, for a paltry $290K. Some hold that those were the best cars that Packard ever made, hands down.
Keeping a car of that era can be a lot of heartache.
