The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I'll never forget one day sitting in a coffee shop, there was a woman with friends at another table who had the most magnificent head of long, full bodied silver grey hair, it was so gorgeous I couldn't keep my eyes off her. If my wife hadn't been with me, I believe that on my way out I would have stopped by her table and told her just how stunning she looked.
Would your wife have objected? I love getting complements on my hair.

Had a really good visit with the horse. That was for breakfast. We'll do snacks later. He seems to be channeling his buddy who died last year. That would be fabulous if he is.

They seem to know things that I don't.
Animals are amazing! They know much more than we give them credit for.

...not me but I remember guys ejecting/pulling out their radio/stereos to keep them from being stolen and carrying them around...also sound equipment installed in the truck..35+ years ago...
I remember that! We have a removable face plate for the stereo in the boat. It can't be used without the face plate.

I had a Facebook argument when someone said that anyone going less than the speed limit was a dangerous driver.....whaaat???

I reminded them that that is not the law that is the highest or max speed limit for that road but the law says safe and prudent and if safe and prudent is 20 miles an hour that is how fast you should go. It digressed into me being fat and stupid and old, and my response to that was all true and a better driver than you.... they were mad
It's like when people are so proud of their builds and say that everything is according to the building code. I remind them that codes are MINIMUM standards.

I'm not a lawyer ... but according to the murder mysteries I've read, strangling is likely to leave clear indications of force.

Try a pillow, and then you can honestly explain ... "well, he was having trouble breathing."
One of my lawyer friends already clued me in to the premeditated part... So, if all of you can just forget I wrote that?

He's doing better today and I got an uninterrupted night's sleep so he'll probably live, for now. 🙄

Yes, it is an expensive undertaking. The landlady's horses are all rescues. This part of the world has a lot of horses which gets discarded for one reason or another. The red horse who I spoke with earlier today was a jumper and he got injured. His "owner" was a preppy girl who was upset when he got hurt and needed attention and rehabilitation, but not to fear, Daddy got her another horse/toy and this one became surplus. "Why do they eat so much? I had no idea that they lived this long." The usual. He was on his way to the knacker, but he didn't get there. Now, he's a pasture pet. One might could ride him, but since he's been hurt, why subject an old horse to that level of selfishness and inconsideration?

His name is Telly, but I call him Preppy sometimes to honor his origins. He doesn't care as long as I have apples or peppermints.
I'm glad he was saved! It always concerns me when people get their kids a pet but don't teach them how to take care of them. We have so many rabbits in our area, some are discarded when they're no longer little and cute.

In my mind, if you're going to get a pet, it's a lifetime commitment.

My wife is in her third battle (over the last 10 years) with renal cancer.

Her sister, mom, and dad all died of various forms of cancer, her sister was only 37.

At this point just about everyone is, or knows, someone dealing with it.
I'm so sorry! Hugs for you both!🫂🫂

10 years ago we traveled to the NIH because her cancer is a rare form, and they had better equipment down there, as well as the best doctors in the world. They saved 80% of her kidney, but things took a bad turn, almost lost her and went through three weeks of hell. I was fine-mostly during it-but afterward it hit me and after a few months of not being able to shake it, I wrote a story about it for catharsis. It ended up winning a contest for that month.

It's good that you were able to channel your angst into a story. Thanks for the link. I'll read it. 🫂🫂

Some of the best souls I have ever had the privilege of knowing were some fur-bearing four-legged "critter." I have continuously had somebody since 2003. The less memorable ones were good company and I begrudge them nothing. The very memorable ones were/are an improvement over most "humans" I know.
My dogs are my babies.

another problem they are creating in driving schools, is class one drivers whom are driving with automatic transmissions, and have never learned the art of upshifting or down shifting, and are relying purely on mechanical braking for slowing down, and they are carrying payload weights up to 130,000lbs
I learned to drive manual shift. The driver's ed cars were all automatic. My parents said, hell no. All of us kids learned to drive a stick shift. My mom had a manual transmission in her cars until she had to stop driving at 83.

We need a just fair world
True. The problem is that wealth is so concentrated in a few worldwide. They use that wealth to buy politicians and influence policy. There won't be justice until the people take back power.

Oh my, life isn’t fair, just gotta live with that!

People invented the politics and the legal system. If people “take” back the power what will they do with it? Rebuild the same institutions? 🤔

It’s 3:30am, maybe I’m just tired… 😉

It's so easy now. I have naturally curly hair. I never did do much with it. Or makeup. I'm not that girly.

But my nails??? Always done with some glitter! Yes, I'm 12. 🤣🤣
The other day my (almost) 4 year old grand daughter came up to me holding a small plastic, girlie coloured case. I asked her what it was and she cheerily told me that it was her princess make up kit.

Fast forward 30 minutes, and I am desperately trying to wash her make up off my face before going in to work. I got all off except for some glitter around the eyes, that stuff just would not come off. My coworkers had questions when I got to work…

I am dreading the day when she gets her nail kit

The Nova met its end when I was T-boned by a 1979 Lincoln Town Car who blew a red light, bent the damn frame on it. I pulled the motor, but ended up selling it not putting it in anything else.

In 2001 I found a 73 SS all beat to crap and someone had a 250 in it. I bought it, found a 396 for sale and put that in and began restoring it. But at a year later we were in the process of opening up the comic shop and between needing a little extra money, and knowing I wouldn't have time to play with the car, I sold it to my wife's cousin....who promptly wrapped it around a pole on RT 1 in Saugus. Jack ass.
I don’t want to brag or anything but my first car was a 2.2 litre K-car in pearl white. I had no problem hitting highway speeds with a strong tailwind.

I briefly-very briefly because someone sold it to me for next to nothing and I needed a car-had a Dodge Aries K....ugh.

But over the years by far the biggest money pit car we had is my wife wanted a Chrysler Sebring convertable and I knew someone that had one and it had nothing but problems, but she wanted it, we bought it and a year later she went to the dealer and said "I'll trade this goddamn thing in for a Flinstone car, because it would run better"
