I must admit I have a very difficult time with Indian accents, especially on the phone...

Well. Accents are hard. And also infuriating.

I had a witness on a criminal case in Newcastle,UK and it took me a fucking long while to understand her and while I was frustrated with her, I wasn’t a total POS to her - Some of my colleagues said she sounded hot etc. Same with the Italian lady.

But when we have to talk to our Indian and Mexican colleagues we totally treat them like shit. And mock them afterwards.

I think as Americans we frequently think people with accents outside of Europe are not competent and we find them easy to dismiss. But god - do we love us some European white country accents. Lol. Sooo dreamy

As someone who’s worked in construction management for almost a quarter of a century, I’m shock to find intellect in middle aged men in the industry.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with that kind on BS.
Round here in Northwest Ohio, there are a lot of females that work construction and they aren't treated that way.
Lot of them are the daughters of workers, that grew up round the job, so they fit right in.

The owner accidentally crossed emails, and found that the client's were questioning absolutely everything this employee did. Looking further, they found that every female encountered this, and effected their time lines immensely. Change the name on the email to a guy, and suddenly the work was accepted at face value without question. No one thinks they're sexist, but it still effects every aspect of a woman's life.

Why do you think there are so many intelligent, professional woman on Lit? It's a safe place to be sexual & feminine without impacting our real life
