Day 16: A song that mentions one or more birds

1971. Ronnie Spector is looking for a comeback single. She choose "Try Some, Buy Some," a George Harrison song he wrote but didn't use. A Beatle! How could it fail? (Spoiler: it failed). A song about an epiphany about the nature of God amidst commercial culture, it was both thematically and musically so absolutely wrong for her as a single. Ronnie admitted she was confused by the song, which would have been perfectly adequate for Harrison to sing in early 1970s.

Ah, but the B- side ...

"Tandoori Chicken," also penned by Harrison, is a rockabilly song about ... tandoori chicken. And wine.

Makes me want to cook dinner for someone...

"Tandoori Chicken," Ronnie Spector (+1)

Okay, this one has a story.

Years ago, my daughter worked at the campus radio station. She even did a show. I would call in and request this song every time as a joke.
She never played it until her final show before she graduated when I was her special guest.
I will gladly forfeit the bonus point today because this memory is one of my highlights. :)

I can't stand Lynyrd Skynyrd. But I do like this story. Well done.

Well I figured by this point And Your Bird Can Sing as well as Blackbird would already be selected, but does that mean there’s no other Beatles song (group or solo) I can use? Of course not! I could have used Bluebird from McCartney’s Band on the Run as just one example, but instead I will go with…
