Favorite story by another author?

Oh God! How to choose?

Ok... seeing as Part 2 of this has been mentioned on the forum recently I'll go for Attack Decay Sustain Release by Awkward MD. It's a brilliant story and brilliant series, totally heart-wrenching and moving. It doesn't give you the ending you initially want, but it is so good that it convinces you that the ending you get is the one you wanted all along.

Read it and weep, both literally and metaphorically. Look on her works ye mighty and despair.

This is tricky, because there are quite a few authors here who I admire, and whose stories I enjoy for a variety of reasons: hotness, skill, theme and more. So I'm going to go with one that gets bonus points for being in my favourite genre to read: sword & sorcery.

My choice is the Zar series by @AlinaX (first part here).

There are parts of that series that I love, and parts I feel quite uncomfortable with. I love the world building side of it, and it has been fun bringing together four different series into one larger narrative, but the focus has often been more on exploring unusual sexual scenarios at the expense of real character development.

I feel that lack of real character development is less of a bug with S&S and more of a feature. Or at least an optional feature.

I won't clutter the forum up with another thread, but I'd extend this further for anyone interested.

A favorite story by another author.... who is not a forum member, (or a regular one as there's a lot of authors who only post once in a great while.)

I think enough back slapping and cheerleading goes on here that we can acknowledge someone from the vast sea of authors who don't post here.

Favorite can change on mood, time you read it, etc. I'm going to go with one of the first stories I read here. It's a one page Lesbian foot fetish piece. Nothing 'literary' nothing fancy, but its a fun story that really does it for me, and I've reread it a few times over the years.

"The Game is Afoot"

Sometimes simple is all you need.

I've gone back, way back, to the beginning of my favorites list. Looking for my favorite. Well, that's a hopeless errand, narrowing it down to one. So, here are a handful of my favorites from yesteryear.

Ladies Cocktail Night - I've mentioned MasterandMargarita before, one of the first authors i followed. And this was the story that got me to do it.

Roommates or More - clothing optional living with a hot new roommate. Nothing sexual about it, perfectly aboveboard.

My Best Friend Emily - this one is great and muddy. Later chapters change the mood quite a bit but still interesting.

The Class Nudist - a fun naked get to know you.

The Accidental Nudist Cabin - a trip for three couples takes a turn after their clothes are stolen.

I don't know that it's my favorite. But I liked Nazanin by @burgwad quite a lot. It's certainly my diamond in the rough pick. I understand why it didn't get the love I think it deserves. It's 24 lit pages of total madness. But I kinda dig that about it. Here's part of the comment I left on it:

This story is the kind of thing I like in amateur long form erotica. In fact, I'll go a little harder. This story is the kind of thing amateur long form erotica should be. Let me elaborate...

The plot is insane.

The pacing is all over the place.

And it's incredibly smutty.

All of this is good. If I want formula, clean three act structures, and tasteful sex scenes I'll go read something broadly published, with mass appeal. Authors doing it for the money have to drive between the lines. Amateurs can take risks. And so, it's right to do so. This story takes risks. Some of them pay off. And I love it for that.

I haven't seen the author post on these forums in a while now. I hope he's still writing. He was doing some experimental stuff (that frankly I don't think was working) when I noticed him last.

Anyway, you should check it out if you like:
- Snarky sibling banter
- Itching each other's mosquito bites
- Twits that make no sense
- Plodding, wandering, plot
- Pacing that starts slow and escalates exponentially
- Descriptions of bodies that are both gross and sexy at the same time
I know those don't all sound positive. But it really isn't a story for everyone. I liked it though. I think about it a lot. You can feel the love (weird perverted love) the author put into it.

All time favorite: The Nymph's Pool - by Watching Cloud -
Young couple discover a pond in the woods, learn the legend of the nymph that thrives on naked love, meet an older couple who remember their parents going there. Just a sweet and really sexy story

Runners up: Word of Mouth - by miwoodsman -
First time story of a shy guy meeting a mysterious girl, and when the mystery is revealed, you'll need a moment...

and Coming Back Home - by chasten -
Older guy takes a young homeless girl under his wing while dealing with small-town gossip. She turns her life around, and his. Relatively little sex, but still a great story.

Favorite Series: Saturday Night School - by jessica_tang_vonharper
Young couple frolic around school after hours. Escalating hotness and risk

Runner Up: Naked at College - by Charles Petersunn
Students sign up for an experimental social nudity program. Lots of CXNX, lots of embarassing situtaions without becoming humiliation. Petersunn was my first favorite author when I first started reading here.

@Cagivagurl asked and I delivered.

Recommend a story by another author.
Some of my favorites are by people who are so well-regarded they don’t need my endorsement. Others are by people I know well or who are friends, and it feels a little biased.

Ruling those out, it makes me realize that I need to allocate more time to reading 😊.

'you'll need a moment'? Wow. I needed more than just a moment. Thank you for posting this heartbreaking story, but with a happy ending.

Abigail's Demon by cunwitch is just lovely - it has that rapid fire dialogue you'd recognize from Gilmore Girls.

Maybe not the most inventive story, nor does it push all my buttons, but this kind of dialogue is something I can only dream of crafting.
