I have shot these things - I have one - and they're kind of miserable. I admire this guy for hanging in there as long as he did, but part of the reason he got a bit sloppy as the range got longer was that his shoulder was beginning to tenderize. Also, as he points out at the end, the sights really suck.

I still have one in 8mm as my back up rifle it cost more to get it tapped for a scope than the whole gun back in 78 because they had to bent the bolt handle to clear scope.

Mine has a bent bolt already. I did buy a Columbian Mauser in .30-'06 years ago, and it came with a straight bolt. I never did decide what to do with that rifle so I gave it to my god son. He loves it.
