Speaking of high power battle rifles, I'm watching the developments concerning the new 6.8 (.277 Fury) with interest. If it becomes reality there is going to be a slew of wildcats based on that cartridge. One of my particular concerns is reload-ability. It appears that it will be...........so far. But there is a potential dis-similar metal problem that could rear it's ugly head.

I reckon that we shall continue to await further developments.

In other news, I think that I saw Uncle Joe Willie Biden tell folks that he had banned sturmgewehrs before and that he'd do it again, but I found this picture online, and I can't find Uncle Joe Willie:

Biden did draft the Senate version of that bill. Or to be more precise the National Association of Police Organizations wrote it and Biden introduced it.

The Wiki article credits Dianne Feinstein.

Joe Willie must have done it because it didn't stay done.

No matter what he does next. Those two rifles I bought in November? I decided to sell them to a guy, and damn if he didn't die in January. Good thing he signed the Bill of Sale first . . . .

;)

DiFi was in on it to be certain. I suspect that with a deeper research you'll find there were multiple Senate sponsors. My information came from the Wiki entry on the legislation itself.

1994 ban

A talent in his own mind, I'm sure.

Too bad he's not eligible to run for president . . . .

My dad said that in WW2 the French marveled at the Americans. When a French vehicle broke down they would just walk away from it. When a jeep broke down the American would get out kick the tires, hit the engine with a hammer and get back in and drive off.

He'd be better than what we've got now.

At least he'd get out and kick the tires and hit the engine with a hammer or something.

I do love an old flathead engine, anvils that they are.

Got the rough cut sanding all but done on the M1 carbine stock. It finally lightened. It's also got an assload of dings in it and one fair-sized gouge on the butt. I wasn't going to stain it, but I am now.

How mean is that???
