90s

looping back to my 70s post..the rev Jesse Jackson doing the intro again for this suitably titled song (for lit and this topic in different ways) sit back and relax for 10 and turn it up.

Day 21: A song from the 90s

This song blew my mind when it first came out, but I was far too young to understand everything that was going on here... so it blew my mind all over again as an adult. The whole album is actually brilliant and deserves another listen. And I luv any dance song that gives instructions on how to do it right in its own lyrics: "People say, 'You look like MC Hammer on crack, Humpty'." So many eternally quotable lines in this song!

Music fact: The sample in this song is from Tom Tom Club's Genius of Love. ๐Ÿฅฐ
I was an alt rock guy so I recall clearly listening to this song for the first time a couple years later and thinking โ€œheyโ€ฆ.โ€

And Mariah is my favorite Diva. My old CFO was a VP at her record label in the 90โ€™s and would tell stories about her, that he felt painted her in a poor light but I found hilarious.
