What’s your most controversial opinion?

Too many have been teaching Daughters Of The Confederacy ‘Lost Cause’ bullshit propaganda instead.
Yeah, they're absolutely the worst. Revisionist history and garbage propaganda.
Too many schools also teach "State's Rights" were the cause. Yes, the state's right to OWN people!!
And the thing with the concept of "State's Rights" is that it's revisionist history and glosses over the issue of slavery entirely. Our history as a nation is genuinely horrifying in many places. It should be studied and examined and used as an example of how not to do things. But weak people just want to hide it.

Revisionist history that they were INCREDIBLY successful in getting added to school curriculum as though it were factual. So many otherwise good and kind people I know who were raised in the south believe it to be true because they were taught in school that it was true.

I'm in the PNW and people here are filled with the revisionist bullshit 💁

It's a sad state of affairs that an Aussie knows your history better than you do

I’m also PNW, after a decade in the southeast. It’s quite a bit different here than there. The DOC legit had their Lost Cause nonsense entrenched in the school curriculum so deeply that kids were taught it as fact.
The ‘war of northern aggression’ as it is referred to 🙄

'War of Northern Aggression'

I remember a Georgia transplant in my AP American History ALWAYS correct the teacher when he'd say, 'Civil War'. He was the Confederate ancestor and would not take any disrespect!

Oh, yeah
That's true. Texas was a trip...

*waves in your general direction*
Hi neighbor

Watching a bad movie is usually much more fun and enjoyable than watching a good movie.
I actually wrote a short vignette about that! It's called Movie Night 🤗 /shameless self promotion.

My most controversial opinion? Milk goes into the cup first, then the tea bag, let it soak before adding boiling water to scald the milk. I've had people throw hands over this.

Ma’am. The milk goes in last!
Dear Mx Knight.

It has been a while since my last letter to you and quite an age since we last spoke. Such are the busy lives we lead. I know of your preoccupation with eliminating your competition and wish you well in that ongoing endeavor. Alas, it has come to my attention that you have taken to quite the habit. Rumor has it that you prepare your afternoon tea as though you were an ungodly heathen. Please understand, that I will have no choice but to cut you out of grandfathers will, lest you stop this tomfoolery.

Yours,
V.

Dearest Madam V,

I am not as clever a writer as you, as we know you have a gift for storytelling. Perhaps an agreement can be reached to keep my standing. I will make my next cup of tea in this asinine way you have described. Should it prove to ruin my cuppa, I shall hear no more of this nonsense. Should it improve the taste, I will shout my apologies to all who are near and take any punishment deemed appropriate.

Cheers,
Mx Knight
