What might a woman get wrong when writing from a man’s POV

Somebody -- a woman -- told me she does not buy lesbian stories written by men.
For my part I find the man heroes in stories written by women to be, duh, women.

Forgive me @Kumquatqueen but I have to quote from your recent 'Sex Swing Satisfaction' story:

We do the wee nods and raised eyebrows you do to express interest. Conversation? We're men! We don't need that.
To clarify the context, two guys (in a long-term relationship with each other) are in line waiting to go into a gay sex club, and signalling intent to other men. Would they flirt with women in the same way? I doubt it (well, one of them isn't interested in women, but the other is).

@VerbalAbuse What makes men written by women read like women, in your experience? Feel free to use any of my characters as examples.

Well, since this thread has irretrievably veered from preventing mistakes into reporting stereotypes (a practice which I affirm), I'll tell this story.

Decades ago hubby and I were on a retreat with six or seven other couples. At one point we divided up with men in one room and women in another, one just off of the other and were assigned something to discuss. Immediately the women started chattering away. Long minutes would pass with no sound from the men's group. It seemed to be normal.
