What’s your most controversial opinion?

I feel like it’s overvalued and no longer means what it used to.

Continued education is what I see to be grossly undervalued
I think I agree. Especially in light of the rise of for-profit colleges, degrees are mainly indicative of an aptitude for a specific type of academia game. In my dottage I find people who learn because they like learning to be far more interesting and generally useful than folks who wanted some letters by their name to get a bigger paycheck. (#notalldoctors 😝)

And don’t get me started on the classicism inherent in the idea off”elite” colleges…

And Trades. I wish they'd discuss them more in school.
I consider trades in higher education…

But I mean mostly STEM degrees… most jobs in STEM require an MSc OR PhD that getting a BSc is so overlooked and doesn’t get the value it deserves. There’s a problem in society when jobs requiring a BSc aren’t getting paid much higher than minimum wage and yet 4 years of schooling is required. It’s bullshit.

Omg “elite” colleges where people get in more because they have connections and can afford it vs the people who have the aptitude.

Pretty much if you want to get paid decently in STEM you need a MS or higher.

If you just want to make a shit ton of money, become a builder.

But even the PhD’s aren’t getting paid the value that their YEARS of studying has earned them.
