HBO: True Detective

It wouldn't hurt if they backed off of the psychotic alcoholic law official, worn and beaten down by the atrocities committed by man. How about an average police detective trying to solve a mysterious case, a case that offers many clues, twists and turns, danger, and in the end, justice prevails.... just write a good mystery that satisfies the general audience. Not sure what they were going for last season....Women cops don't always have to be lesbians (although I like that) , male cops CAN have a good marriage, loving kids, etc....

Hollywood's been stereotyping cops for decades, even demonizing all of those who work in the South. For instance, Carroll O'Connor played a southern cop like only a New York liberal could.;)

It's done a great job of keeping my interest so far. The man character seems very intense. I know they give his back story with Nam to suggest is is a different cat. But those two cops hardly bust each others balls.

I think that it has a lot of potential.

I like music.

True Detective season 4 is out and is better than 2&3. Better than 1? Too soon to tell. :)

I just finished season 1 this weekend. Are the following seasons just as good?

Season one was lightning in a bottle, everything just worked.

2/3 were shit and worse than shit.

This one sees a return to having a supernatural undertone, and great cast, but there's something about it that falls flat to me. The story itself feels like its just trying to hard and Foster doesn't seem to be trying at all.
