I have one of those semi-auto Bull Pup 12-ga shotties. Fairly worthless for hunting and it kicks like a rented mule. But it looks cool. It's black. Should be banned.

Not really a lever gun guy, but I wonder how obscure the .35 Marlin is compared to the ubiquitous .30-30.

Miserable day at the range, wind, rain, sleet, a true test of determination.:D

I've got one of those 336's in 35 Rem. Took many deer with it down in FL. Excellent woods rifle and cartridge.

A miserable day at the range is way better than a good day at work - and mine left a bit to be desired. Reminds me a bit of the time I was Hell-bent to get my M1A sighted in and it was cold as fuck and there was snow. The wind was still, so sitting outside for 90 minutes wasn't all that bad considering that it was about 20*. Determination . . . .

That's exactly the kind of input I sought about the dot three five.

It's a 100yd rifle and cartridge but in the woods you aren't going to get longer shots anyway. If'n you pull the trigger on it you won't be sorry.

I'd really prefer a .45-70 if I were lever gunning, or a .357. It's been awhile, but I recall 94s at $300. The damned things have certainly climbed in price.

I've got an old commemorative 94 still in the box, never fired it. I don't care for the 94 or the 30-30. Yeah, it's iconic but iconic only goes so far.

From my perspective the 357 ain't enough rifle and the 45-70 is too much for woods work. A friend has one of the new 45-70's and it is indeed an impressive cartridge, if'n I had to hunt Griz. with an older cartridge it would be at the top of my list.

In 1963, British Army armorers put one Vickers gun through probably the most strenuous test ever given to an individual gun. The base had a stockpile of approximately 5 million rounds ammunition which was no longer approved for military use. They took a newly rebuilt Vickers gun, and proceeded to fire the entire stock of ammo through it over the course of seven days. They worked in pairs, switching over at 30 minute intervals, with a third man shoveling away spent brass. The gun was fired in 250-round solid bursts, and the worn out barrels were changed every hour and a half. At the end of the five million rounds, the gun was taken back into the shop for inspection. It was found to be within service specification in every dimension.

Now that’s reliability for you.

Was at a bar in northern Wisconsin where they were raffling off a Henry lever action in .35 Remington.

Altho I’ve been around firearms my entire life I honestly had never heard of .35 Remington before. So i entered the raffle.

Whomever you talk to, you hear the same cry: The resettlement never should have been permitted. We should have run into the street, set fire to everything in sight, have torn down the walls, and escaped to the Other Side. The Germans would have taken their revenge. It would have cost tens of thousands of lives, but not 300,000. Now we are ashamed of ourselves, disgraced in our own eyes, and in the eyes of the world, where our docility has earned us nothing. This must not be repeated now. We must put up a resistance, defend ourselves against the enemy, man and child.

Jews in the Warsaw ghetto does not equal entitled plutocrats manipulating gullible Deplorables.

All the time. One of the bestest critters I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He convinced me that horses are pretty cool, and he was right.

It's always best never to practice contempt prior to investigation.
They definitely can have their personalities and funny quirks.
