So, my son is obsessed with dinosaurs. Truly obsessed. And we were reading this book that said it is questioned what kind of noise the trex would have made, and that it might have made more of a honking sound. He was notttt having it with that idea. It really pissed him off. So whenever we play dinosaurs I always make the trex honk and he gets so defensive about it telling me that the book was WRONG.

They think all tyrannosaurs had some amount of feathers. More on the smaller ones and then just some on the rexes

Correct. The largest confirmed feathered tyrannosaur was Yutyrannus from China, about 25 to 30 feet long. Rex most likely was fuzzy as a baby but lost them as it grew. It probably was like a elephant with small patches of fuzz here and there.

Did I just read something that the think Megalodons weren’t shaped like giant great whites too? So sad that The Meg isn’t gonna be scientifically accurate anymore

As for the voice, rex probably was like an alligator with a lot of subsonic notes and rumbling. A forty-something foot monster would not be bellowing every five seconds like in the movies if it wanted to catch something.

I domt know, form follows function. Knowing how it’s shaped gives some insight into the ecosystem it existed in. So many things are guesses and assumptions at the moment.

True, I kinda misspoke. My land-based prejudice betrays me. It probably hunted whales and anything else it wanted. There is speculation over whether it and Livayatan ever interacted. If they did, my vote is on the Big L.
