🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

Oh I haven’t heard this one in so long 😍 I loved this album
I had a hard time picking a song from that album, so many good choices. But I think this is my favorite. At least it is today. Definitely going to be listening to the whole album again soon though. ☺️

This part:

I am very glad you are safe and clean now.

Thank you for sharing. I love this song and will think a little differently about the lyrics now. 😊

Thank you for your extremely kind words! I appreciate it. Truly.

But I didn't really mean to have such a long-winded 'overshare' (lol)... seems I was just having trouble reaching my point.
I did have one! (Sometimes I don't... lol.) And you reached into my big mess of a post, and perfectly pulled out the only part that I was truly trying to get across: "But it makes me appreciate how we can do almost 'anything' with lyrics if we look hard enough." Thank you for focusing on the part that I meant to highlight. I'm glad you found it in there!

Oh, and please don't let my dark interpretation ruin a very fun song. No need to think about those delightful lyrics "too" differently... lol.
Thank you for your kindness and wisdom!

I think a lot about people who think Born in the USA is a patriotic songs. Amongst many, many, examples of people who don’t pay attention or just badly misinterpret lyrics. 🤣

Glad you’re clean now. It’s a rough road.

Thank you for the kind words!
And you're completely right about the lyrical misinterpretations... with 'Born in the USA' being a brilliant example, for sure.
(One of my all-time favourite albums when I was a kid, by the way. I got the cassette, and it was in permanent rotation.)
I guess my point 'was' how malleable and open to interpretation lyrics are, which can be wonderful... but it's certainly galling when it flies in direct opposition to what the artist in question usually stands for. Right-wing interpretations of Springsteen are particularly galling and ludicrous... lol.
Thanks for the great post.

Of course it’s alright. And thank you so much for sharing that with us. Glad you’re here 💚

Thank you very much! You are always so kind to me!
(Which is part of why I 'try' to follow the rules here. No spankings for me... lol.)

And thank you for the thoughtful words, as well.
Honestly, I kind of overshared with that long post... fortunately, lavendersilk was able to pull the point I was trying to make out from within the heart of my long-winded monologue: "But it makes me appreciate how we can do almost 'anything' with lyrics if we look hard enough." Hopefully she's not the only one who was able to find it hiding in there... lol.

Thank you for continuing to run a very cool thread. Cool, fun, and very interesting!

Day 21: A song from the 60s

Little bitta garage, psych, freakbeat. Whatever ya wanna call it. Such a great song. Anyone ever heard it before?
