Absolutely prohibit information about patient/doctor medical interactions outside of the profession. No Government or employer should ever have access to any of it. As long as procedures are accepted by the AMA and other professional medical organizations, there should be no other regulations. If the professional medical groups object they can seek regulations (like unhealthy silicone injections or elective procedures).

Employers should not be allowed to select or deselect any specific procedures in health insurance plans. They should only be able to select pre-deteremined level of coverage packages to offer to employees based on seniority or other benefit levels.

This way no one knows you had an abortion...

It's transparent (<-- which, if looked at sideways, is an oxymoron) jaF0 and never going to fly.

Mostly I agree, I think. On the other hand, I dunno. Abortion is one thing and it should be private. But if I own a trucking company and you’re applying as a driver I definitely need to know if you have a seizure disorder. And if you’re applying to the military I want to know a whole lot of medical and mental health background information. Or are you talking about some other angle?

Yay ObamaCare. I guess in the rush to pass that POS no one read the fine print.

All an employer needs to know is the applicant has a valid CDL and DOT certificate.

The requirement for digital records and the formulation of a national data base for said records under ObamaCare.
Please explain your concerns. Medical provider access to digital records have been helpful in my treatment, not a barrier.

Fair enough. But again, as an employer I’m going to want to know a bit more than just accept a doctor’s note you can’t drive for six months or until further notice. And info gets shared when people go out on short term disability and FMLA leave.

What prompted this thread?

You can want all you can want.

An employee can share at will, but must never be required to,.

Multiple state legislative endeavors.
