Sex & Shenanigans

That last photo doesn’t do it justice. The cathedral was built in 900 A.D. and it was the most massive building I’ve ever been inside. Built of huge stone blocks. It had four wings to it, plus the center, and one of those wings could fit an entire large-city church in it with room to spare, and the ceiling was at least 75 feet high.
It’s hard to describe the sheer size and weight of the place.

Places like that do much more than impress.
I had my chance to go to Arlington National Cemetery in 2022 for the first time and was able to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The structure surrounding it was massive and the sheer vision watching it was breath-taking.
The fact I still get goosebumps a little over a year and a half later just remembering it. Wow!

Where?

I just learned earlier today that because of black death in England even many churches were abandoned instead of being maintained, as parishes became abruptly smaller and it took ages for the population to grow back to the former size.
