Anyone here do real fire dancing? Like the kind with poi/batons/fans etc?
I think it looks stunning. One night I was getting high in the woods with a girlfriend and we came across a clearing that had a group of people taking turns practicing fire dancing. It was such a trippy thing to stumble upon but what a show!
The one I remember most was to Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi. I wish I had a smart phone back then and could have taken video of it

I actually have a friend with experience in this. He did baton work and would send me some practice vids. He played the saw and we jammed once. He hung out with Wavy Gravy too. Really facinating dude.

I thought I’d get into it myself at one point. My friend got me some light up poi and I practiced swinging them around a bit but I’m not very coordinated probably shouldn’t be slinging fire around

My whole family was super into poi for a few years but we never went on to fire dancing. Even uncoordinated people can become good sy poi…maybe not with fire but light up poi balls are so fun! I have many friends that perform as fire dancers, stilt walkers and on silks. There are a some amazingly talented people out there.

I have many friends that perform as fire dancers, stilt walkers and on silks. There are a some amazingly talented people out there.

I love watching it! The light up ones too. Those combined with the music is hypnotic.
I felt like I was falling in love with them while I watched them with the fire.

I knew I'd need one. I would have needed a day off with just his parents a few months back, and now his brother's family was there, too. Total hassle with the kids, and his mother is running even more on overdrive when grandkids are there. I barely managed the necessary evening routine when I got home, basically I was asleep before my head touched the pillow.
